Who would win in a race between Flash and Superman? I remember a cartoon show that had an episode about that, but what do you guys think?

Spider-man has my vote, relatable and amusing.

batman = too much plot armor

flash is faster then supes

For all the wolverine fanboys click -> . Yes even the punisher is way more badass.

Spawn is crap now a days.

Punisher is my favorate. Stronger than an average human, and has amazing healing ability.

I say the Flash. Superman is fast, but he can't be the best at everything. The Flash is the fastest man alive- let him have it

Well, can't superman fly fast enough to reverse the way the earth travels so that he can go back through time? Isn't that fast, like speed of light fast?

There was an series of the justice league where they actually had a contest. Batman won because he was a sherlock holmes... he was a great detective and found their weakness's and won. I should also mention that super man was not the best of everything... he was just very talented in all aspects... the flash was faster, etc.

Superman is too powerful, just like his weakness. It makes him a very lame character IMHO.

As far a "cool" superheros my votes go to ones who are interesting. Batman and Spiderman almost always go up against enemies who have a clear edge in power, but they both use intelligence to help them win the fights. (while batman doesn?t have any normal ?super powers?, he is a f***ing billionaire, which was enough to make Lex Luthor the primary villain to Superman...)

Wolverine is also a favorite, because he is something of the anti-hero, he isn?t afraid to use lethal force, and his animalistic attacks are just so damn sweet - there's just something really cool about brute force characters, which would also include the likes of the Hulk and Juggernaut. Batman in Batman Begins was similar in this regard, quickly taking out enemies in non-BS fashion (the likes of which Superman never does despite his vast power, which makes Superman a frustrating character, and not that cool...)

Actually supes has 3 major weakness the well know kryptonite(drains him of power), magic(can injure him), and exposure to a red sun(blocks his powers).

A little surprise there aren't any comments on the pic I posted. Tought wolverine gettign his groin and face shot off by the punisher would elict more disscusion.

I think you're selling Superman short. He's IS too powerful- and he knows it! His entire life is based around restraint. He's actually afraid to let loose in his fear of hurting or killing someone. You'll see that a lot in the comics, and the Justice League cartoons showed this aspect of him a lot.

Thing is clearly the weakest link; Juggernaut is supposed to be unstoppable (you can slow him down but never stop him completely, and the Hulk is supposed to have unlimited strength potential (the angrier he gets the stronger he gets, so he can easily get more powerful in such a fight). I'd say the Juggernaut and Hulk would be a stalemate, but either would beat the Thing.

Yadda yadda yadda, boorrriing. Supes is a prude, he is not cool, which is what this thread was about...of course that is my opinion. His actions are infuriating to me, not enjoyable like other heros. His "limitless" power is also a weakness of his character design, he has to be retarded because of all the senarios he's taken out or harmed by his enemies because he fails to properly use his powers - but this is just character failure because the writers were too dumb to think of such plot holes.

I do agree in the movies and the early comics he was too god-like. They "nerfed" him recently, and I really like the rendition they did in the animated Justice League series. He had limits to his strength, and could feel pain as well (he seemed to be very venerable to electricity and energy weapons). Bullets would bounce off, but large caliber rounds (ie- .50 cal chain gun) would sting and he would have to dig in to prevent from being pushed back. Large explosions could knock him unconscious or disorient him. In other words- he was the Man of Steel Within Reason

When they showed him in this light, it was really interesting. He would always try to do what was right as he saw it with his "farm raised values", but a lot of people were distrustful of his decisions. He was also afraid of himself- he would second guess himself all the time because he was afraid of abusing his power and hurting other people. The best times were when Batman would have to keep Supes in check.

They've done some really good stuff with him lately. In fact, I'm thinking of getting a subscription to the comic again to see what's going on.
