I left it going as first test, I was doing some web browsing while it was running so it could've slowed it down..

Also i accidentally pressed OK, so the times for each iteration is lost

How's the time?

EDIT: I just realized it's underclocked!! I'll do a 4ghz one later.. this test was with mem running 650mhz 3-4-4-10

2.7GHz with STOCK VOLTS!?!?!? WINCHESTER 3000+?!?!?!?!?
HOW is your system stable? what week is your CPU? That is AMAZING!!!!!
with a VIA chipset?
more info please!!!! stock cooling? what ram? settings?

Thanks, here's to you

Basically, my secret was using the "Locked @ 74" AGP/PCI setting. The 66 lock failed around 270, and the 8:2:1 allowed me to get to 295, but I wanted the full 300. Then I started dialing down the voltage from 1.55 and made it back to stock without the cpu failing. It may not be 100% stable yet , because I haven't had enough time to check it all out (basically 3D games not tested yet). It is obviously stable to run 32M of SuperPi and has also crunched Seti WU's @ 1.8 Hrs/Unit for 2 days with no crashes or reboots.

It's stock cooling and a 266 divider with my Corsair VS PC3200 @ 2-3-3-10. Radeon 9800 Pro@XT speed. Fortron 350W PSU with an overwhelming 16A on the +12 rail. WD 800JB IDE HDD. That's about it, really. Just lots of patience and trying unconventional stuff since this chipset seemed to be capable of more but had something holding it back.

So what is the time...Your screenie cut off the actual time....It was not done in 28min 44 sec...probably more like 29min 45sec.....

I ran mine at 29m 14s when I had it at 9x294 with 480ish ddr with loose cas 2.5 timings....

I need to rerun at 8x330 to see if it like the HTT and subsequent higher ram.....I think Zebo showed it didn't care much so it may not make a diff....

AMDs are a little stronger here, and the program is not HT optimized or any other extension favoring Intel...pretty basic and thus IPC wins out here...

My P4 2.4c@3.5 did like 36-37min range so sounds about right....

My superpi 1mb score was 39-40s completly tweaked out at 3.5ghz and now I get 32s...about a 25% increase....I get 29min now and about let say 36-1/2 minutes then...also about 25%....

A program so basic as this will scale pretty clearly....Your score is just about right taking into account my old system.

there actually is a Prescott optimized version of SuperPI. Please state if you are using it or not though.

29:44--The screen I posted is the one that it automatically gave me after it was done. I didn't notice that it wasn't the final one.

im not too pleased with my score of 31.46.. i ran it with 1.5 cas especially lol.. maybe it doesnt like me running a divider (likes alot of bandwidth?)

i know its not a bad score, but when i look at the guy with 28min with 3200@2.54... bah

Wow my P4 2.6@3.2ghz got 45m 12s with 2-2-2-5 ram timings. But i was running 246/198 cpu/ram ratio maybe that has some effect since superpi likes memory bandwidth for P4. STill that's 7 min slower than yours.

Just open the program agai...It remembers the fastest score to date so it should have your last 32mb score or best at least...

I should have been more clear. When I re-ran (didn't know about it keeping the fastest score) I got 29:44. I didn't feel like posting another screenshot, but I will if anybody is skeptical. SuperPi appears to be an app that actually cares about the memory bandwidth, since guys with slower clockspeed have up to ~5% better times than mine.

You are right once you get past the 1mb test...

With specs I have no running 1mb scores me a 32sec....If I use a 133 divider at same fsb I get a 33sec....So it makes since the 32mb over its length of time can make 30+ sec better...

Update:

Just threw in some PDP PC3200 1 gig Samsung TCCD. Reran the bench at 1:1 => 246/246 @ 2.5-3-3-6

New score at identical CPU speed of 3.2ghz => 38min 3sec

That is a decrease of 7min 9sec from 246/198@2-2-2-5. Therefore, SuperPI is definately memory bandwidth hungry.

It may be more so for Intel P4's which are known memory bandwidth limited..
AMDs are going to be differet here..

Anyone care to test superPI memory bandwidth effect on an A64 platform? Just use 5:4 vs. 1:1 or some other ratio at equal Cpu speed.

looks like Intel's cant touch AMD on this benchmarks, on HardOCP my 2.6GHz AMD is about equiv to a 3.8GHz intel p4

Thats right where it should be...

oh, im dumb...i realize what you mean. i have my card clocked at about 4200+ speeds

It has mainly been overlooked cause in the 1mb and 2mb test the difference only produce 1 to 2 sec.....
