Lets see...

I am planning to upgrade my box later this year - when the DualCores come out... think the scores here will tell a bit more about the choice between AMD & Intel DualCore CPU`z

FX55 aint got nothing on me. This is a 6xx @ mid 4.1 with the patch. It will take an aweful lot to take my bench scores down <when I do them>

Hey, no fair! You didn't say you were OCed in your original post

That's awesome to see that the new 6xx can OC so well.

Is that on air?

Try it with nothing running in the background. I'd like to see what it can do. And do you think the extra mb of cache is helping out?

If you consider this air cooling....

If I recall correctally the last time I did a legimate Super_PI bench my 1MB score was 27secs. <dont quote me on that tho lol>

Wow! That makes my score look even worse. (The Single Channel DDR333 at CAS 2.5 is slowing me down)

Edit: More craptastic scores!

512K: 24s
4M: 4m 55s
8M: 9m 39s
32M: 47m 40s

That definately qualifies as air cooling. I kind of wish there was some way to unlock the MB on my Dell, as it has a monster HSF and I think the cooling is really good. I would think that I could get it close to 4Ghz, but as is, it's just fine. Extremely happy with the performance.

Have you tried using Clockgen yet?

Soo-wheat score!

But, be a little hush about it... we don't wanna wake the sleeping monsters, now do we? [AMD64 FX-55]

you are one confident person to think that an fx-55 wouldn't be able to take down your 1:11 2MB time...

my 3500+ can do 1:10 2M unpatched (not sse2 optimized) at 2.8 ghz

i'm pretty sure that an fx-55 can topple my score and your score very easily.

I think the word lies somwhere in "cocky'....

I get 30sec now and i have hit 29sec at 1mb with some tweaking at near 2.7ghz. LOL only giving up 1.4+ghz....I hit 1:12, but I only ran it at a known fully stable speed....I know I can beat that time with a mere few HTT bumps up....

Sure, go for it then but I'd like to see you get thse numbers with about 20GB of stuf DLing in the backround while listening to music

Once I get my multipliers working its gonna be a whole different story. Gotta remember im only using 258 x 16. Your RAM bandwith is far greater than mine...for the moment

Dont need to since I only like to run comparative benchmarks on a 100% stable system.....The fact was a person who can scale up to 2.7-2.8ghz will beat those numbers you have now anyways.

I just know why you are so excited about a cpu clocked 1.4ghz more and still get the same or lower score....POst your scores and move on. NObody wants to hear your Rah Rah. Your comments in other threads show you seemed to have learned little with your A64 about the A64 architecture.

Go ahead and jack the tool a little harder buddy!!! HT!!! Duh....Why would I run a benchamrk and not do it at the best. You apparently know very little about the P4 architecture as well...Go ahead and turn those things off and run the superpi again, and post the scores with exact settings....YOu will see superpi is not HT aware so you were not taking as much of a hit as you think. Downloading files (CSI episodes) on my system through MP#downloading or LImeWire takes less then 3-5% with winamp about the same. So on that P4 system with HT and superpi not being HT aware you will see little or no difference.

Well, not sure how BIG of a DIFF running background app would make.. if you have seen my screen shot of my SuperPI 2M @ 1m 22s you would also see that I have SQL Server running, media player, and a few other things as well...

Got 33s on 1M with zero background [execpt AV] and with the normal stuff [like the screen shot]

The Intel emt64`z look great, but there are a WASTE OF BLOODY MONEY... i.m.o.. Dual Core CPU`z would be out soon, so... rather wait for that...

And, I doubt that the Intel emt64`z would beat the FX-55... I have seen these babies in action... its POWER is almost sickening, life draining... like something from a Stephen King book... But I could be wrong...

PS: I am a HUGH Intel fan & supporter, but I'm not a blind fool

I usually take a big hit in any bench I do with any backround stuff. But Ill have some benches today. HOPEFULLY abit has a bios that'll unlock my 640 so I can finally get a decent Dram speed. (so used to running 280+ on my A64 :-/ )

Great job on that score.
From what I've seen in this thread, that score would indeed beat the FX55, as it is faster than the Athlon 64s here that are over 2.6ghz.

The 2mb score is really awesome.

Let's have a little love for the P4 here

Thanks. Frankly im suprised myself. I thought for sure it would be closer to 29 or 30 and not 28

Is that the one optimized for the prescott?? does it have SSE3 support?? maybe the venice cores will see some slight advantage with it as well if SSE3 is optimized in it...

NIce scores!!!!

By the way what kind of bandwidth scores do you get with that setup???

Arrrrrrggg... you just HAD to ask that. Compared to what my A64 got frankly im embarased. Im just barely pushing 6k on sandra :disgust:

__________________________

Yea this is the SSE3 patched one. Thnx. Like I said before...im damned impressed as Im sure you will be when you get ahold of your Venice I see about a 3-4 second improvement with the patch. Lemme quick do a non-patched run for comparison...

<EDIT> Yea its about 3 seconds 31 vs 28

I dont trust or put much stock in sandra scores anyways....A64's as you know dont need all that bandwidth anyways....When I run cas 2-2-2-6 at 296HTT w/ a 133 divder I think it only gets like a 6400 in sandra....And that is really close to some of my top scores in benches...I hit 7400-7500 with my cas 2.5 and 183 divider but that 15% increase doesn't tanslate to real world....
