I started gym 3 weeks back with almost no stamina. Have been improving stamina slowly. They gave me soy bean seed and grams included in my diet along with Milk

One gym trainer suggests on purchasing supplements.

Are they worth it? If I take it in beginning? Will it be needed forever to keep up the proteins intake?

if not, then suggest a good excuse :sneaky:

TIA.

What is your daily protein goal in grams?
Are you able to meet that requirement with regular food?

If yes, you don't need supplements. If not, supplements will help.

I just started gym. Not sure about that. Getting into better shape is priority one for me, right now.

I am under the impression that any and all of that stuff is designed to make somebody money, and that somebody isn't you. I have never discovered any value in supplements, vitamins or any other voodoo crap either through experience or through personal report. The only people who say I should buy that stuff are the people selling it and the suckers who already bought it and are trying to convince me I should buy it too. Just my opinion.

With a proper diet, nope. Some of the guys here are massive and they have to be more intent on what they're eating/taking. As a noob, you should gain strength fairly quickly to start. You just have to keep at it. Same for your stamina.

There is nothing magic about protein supplements. They are just a quick and easy way to provide your body with protein if you can't hit your protein goals via food.

What does this mean? Is your priority to lose weight? Increase your cardio-vascular ability?

Supplements are worth for Companies to make lots of money.

Eat right and exercise and you don't need supplements.

Yup, unless you're deficient for some medical reason you can get all you need from eating right. Protein is easy with chicken, turkey, eggs and beef.

It was worth it to me simply because of the convenience. I'm often in a rush and can't always plan out my meals perfectly due to life so I add supplements as a stop gap.

I think supplements do work, it's all about finding the right one for you and that isn't full of all those bad ingredients and caffeine that aren't good for you. I don't think it's something you should live on forever but I think it's a great way to help build muscle and lose weight.

Depends on what you're after. But right now at the beginning you should not need anything until you get the couch off your back. When you start working harder then you can eat, then look at what you are lacking, right now you're just lacking experience. focus on that first.

Depends.

Steroids, tren, clen, test, HGH, dren, and many other party drugs will get your body ripped. Ask Zyzz. Oh wait...

I'd say no for your average beginner weight lifter. I don't take any supplements whatsoever and my protein intake is consistently between 150-250 grams per day. It can be done quite easily if you focus on making lean meats a big part of your diet.

All the other stuff (fish oil, creatine, preworkouts, etc) "might" make a 5% or so difference when all is said and done. That might mean something to you one day when you've hit a rather rarefied level of fitness, but not really right now.

Just 3 weeks in I think maintaining your macronutrient and calorie intake at the levels you need along with establishing a consistent and progressive training regiment will be much better places to focus your attention.

I have been advised to take 100 gram Soya been seeds and Gram sprouts daily for protein. Would they be enough for starters?

I drink 1 glass milk and eat oat after workout.

Supplements are a huge industry. The biggest problem is that they aren't regulated and most people are being scammed. There was a recent study on St. Johns Wort and a bunch of other supplements and tests came back from CVS, Walgreen's Walmart, GNC, etc and they all were lab tested to have 0-10% of what people were buying. So...basically, they are a placebo.

I know you may be looking at protein supplements, etc... Here's my recommendation. Consider taking magnesium supplements to increase your oxygen intake since most people don't eat enough nuts in their diet. 250mg-400mg daily is a good amount to shoot for....so consider taking a 250mg dose of Magnesium in solid pill form.

Other than that, I would recommend fish oil for your heart and joints. It helps a lot with cholesterol too... You won't see much difference, but fish oil is proven to do good things for you and it's hard for the companies to rip you off at the end of the day. Tip: Keep these in the freezer and take them at night to avoid indigestion. I take 2 capsules per day.

I'm in agreement with SlitheryDee. Typically, you won't see a lot of benefit from supplements. They honestly are preying on people who want an edge or don't want to have to put forth as much time or effort...unfortunately, there's not a quick fix and they do not make that big of a difference at the end of the day.

Yeah, I'm not big on supplements, but I do endorse fish oil. It really does seem to make a difference on my joints. Much more so than condroitin or glucosamine. I do the squeeze packs from Coromega. The orange ones taste good. No fishy aftertaste.
