But I don't get the double standard. None of the more anti-gun leaning crowd has directly answered me on that, either.
There really aren't different kinds of dead, dead is dead. Why is alcohol celebrated and accepted by so many when it kills far more people every bit as dead as guns? Why are guns so vilified? Is it really just an emotional thing because of the intent?
Because they're scurd. Alcohol is fun, but to someone who has never owned or shot a gun, guns are scury. To a psychopath in government who wants absolute control over people, guns are really super duper scury. In California, they are literally trying to ban a gun part (barrel shroud) who's only purpose is to cool down the barrel of the gun. It will literally make the gun safer to the gun user and anyone else who could get injured if the user accidentally touched the hot barrel and his reflex reaction resulted in firing a shot unintentionally. The assholes trying to ban this part don't even know what it is for. They think it is "that thing that goes on the shoulder". And yet there are people in control who think that they should get to throw people in jail for owning something that they don't even know what it does. These are assholes. No other noun quite aptly describes them. Gun control is NOT about safety. It is NOT about protecting people.
