I've heard people saying that smoking pot supports terrorism a lot lately, I don't understand this. I don't do it myself but i have no problem with anyone else doing it either, I was just wonder how it is linked to terrorism. I'm from Oregon where it's usually just a bunch of hippies that go out and plant a patch in the middle of nowhere.

See what propaganda can achieve? You have more on the ball than your pals or whoever.

I just generally think it's stupid when the media or government or whoever uses public fear to press their own agendas, before I went bitching about it though I just wanted to know if there was any backing to it.

Everything supports terrorism. We must fund every extra cent we have to fight it worldwide.

Kind of like buying Alcohol during prohibition supported criminals. Technically true, but in reality it's the prohibition that supported criminals by driving legal channels out of business.
Buying gas supports terrorism a lot more than buying pot. But you aren't going to see an ad about that from this administration.

unless you believe the saudi government is supporting terrorists that argument doesn't really hold water because less than a quarter of our gas comes from the middle east and 90% of that remaining ~25% comes from allies like saudia arabia and kuwait.

I'm not sure if this was sarcastic or not, but I just don't like how the media spreads sh!t that isn't true. I know that is just life and I'll prolly get a ton of comments saying deal with it or it's always been that way, but it still sucks... Yes I'm still young, dumb, and naive and think the world should be a better place.

the media doesn't spread anything one way or the other in general; they report what is newsworthy and televise the advertisements that keep them in business. perhaps you are mad at the government-sponsored Ad Council for putting out the ridiculous ads of lately?

I would actualy guess that the use of fear as a coercion tactic has existed as long as humans have

But but but... the commercial I just saw said it was a fact. An F A C T. Fact. Are you going to argue with a commercial that provides absolutely no proof to back themselves up? I know I am.

While watching 24 (lol coincidental since there's terrorism lol), they've stopped to a new low. The commercial, in summary:

Random guy: drugs dont support terrorism.
official guy: yes they do
random guy: no they don't
[repeat x 10]
official: yes they do
random guy: okay.

OK, go travel the world and visit wahabbi mosques and ask who paid for these mosques. The answer will be the Saudis more often than not.

Hell, we don't even need to try them in public and we can hold them as long as we want! Sweet!
