Question.....Why do people put these on the back of their car? This one thing that just pisses me off so bad!

I dont understand the point of them. Really, who in this country DOESNT our troops? Every time I see one I want to go up to the person in the car and ask them WHY they have it. Do they believe they support the troops MORE than me?

If you have one on your car, Why?

So why not just donate money directly to the soldiers through the USO or something. Im sure some of that money goes to the company that made them....

I donated money to the tsunami help, but i dont expect a bumper sticker saying I donated money....

I want a bumper sticker that says "I support killing innocent people for oil."

Or possibly, "Muhammed died so that I can save three cents a gallon. Thanks Muhammed."

Hey jackass, this is about the TROOPS. Not about the reason we went to war, but the actual support we have for REAL americans over in Iraq. Keep your politics out of this, this is about the troops, the real human beings, the americans we have over there

And it's been made clear that the proceeds from those ribbons go to support our troops. This is really about why you don't think our troops deserve support. Because if you're against those ribbons, that support our troops, then you're against America. Maybe you should stop posting and get back to watching the latest Michael Moore flick, mmmkay?

I am 100% in favor of killing as many men, women and children as it takes to fire our powerplants and automobiles. Fvck them. We have the big guns and we can take anything we want.

And yet somehow the slogan of "support our troops" somehow ALWAYS translates into "don't criticize the current geopolitical leanings of our presidential administration". I want our troops out of Iraq and out of most of the world where we have troops deployed, and I want them home, so they can be with their families and their communities. I don't want them flung halfway across the world for some imperialistic farce. I support our troops because I don't like seeing American blood (or ANY blood) shed for delusional, lying, scheming power-hungry assholes.

Actually I have donated money to our troops thru other means. I think its retarded to get a sticker on the back of my car letting everyone know how nice i am to our troops. I can donate money and not have to receive credit for it. You pay 2 dollars for those dumb stickers, half probably goes to the cost of making it and a dollar goes to the troops. So if i donate 4 dollars, I have donated 4 times as much as a jackass with a magnet on the back of their car just because they think its "cool" and "popular"

It's simple. We are at war and these people want to show support for the troops, despite the politics.

Stuff your politics, there are American boys over there who don't need to be treated like the guys in Vietnam were. They are simply soldiers. They don't make policy of any kind and they don't deserve the hate.

The stickers also serve as a reminder to those who would otherwise turn a blind eye that there are American military personnel serving in hostile fire zones at this very moment. There are too many people, many on this very forum, who would otherwise forget what's happening because it doesn't directly impact their selfish, narrow lives.

The support doesn't end when the fighting is over, either. We should never forget either.

Heh. I'm serious though. I'm gonna print out one of each bumper sticker. Want a pair?

I'll stick em right next to my "For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three" bumper sticker I made courtesy of Maddox's images

As a member of the military, When you are exposed to negative either on an internet forum or downtown, it's nice to have that subtle reminder that people do care and support you.

Why do you Americans have to support their troops monetarily??? Isn't the government capable of looking after their own soldiers???

Think about that, will ya.

It's different when you receive a care package donated from an organization comprised of people you don't know. The government provides what we need, it's hard to describe, but what ordinary citizens donate means so much more.

Ok, that I can understand.

But people pay taxes, and you don't know them and ultimately the government, and thus the army, get that money, its the same thing, isn't it?

And do US troops have to be where they are in those firezones? Why not draft a couple of million troops, overrun the place (country) completely and then they won't have to stay so long, since you'd get all those bad guys.
