I wouldn't recommend it. I played with it yesterday and the screen was extremely fuzzy...
Not bad, but not a fan of the aspect ratio. Something to consider, though.

Virtual Larry, does your tablet have 1 or 2 gb of ram?
Box said 2, not really sure how to measure it.

Go to settings, apps, swipe right til you see running apps. At the botton, there is a RAM bar that should say XXX MB used and XXX MB free. What do you see?
627MB used, 1.3GB free.
I really like this tablet. Add 2GB of memory to an average processor and you get this peppy little guy for $50 total. It helps living down the NJ turnpike from the NE warehouse. Free ship turns into overnight, for some items. Anyway, the display is OK for the 7 in size. Downloaded the IMDB app and looked at some movie trailers. Resolution, colors, and speed were all fine. The biggest problem that I've found is the sound. I first noticed the problem watching YouTube vids. I knew going in that there is only a single speaker. Though even with good earphones there seems to be not enough power for audio output. I discovered that nanny obstacle right away and that's not the problem. Put the POWERAMP app on it but that doesn't help for websites or YouTube. Is anyone else experiencing the same audio problems ? If it's just this unit I'll RMA it and try another. I like it a lot for $50.
I got three of these for my soon to be five year olds for their birthday. Gonna install a bunch of kids apps and see how it lasts for them.
I'm really liking this tablet, at least considering the price point of $60.
Edit: Except for the anti-glare coating on the screen, it makes it seem permanently "dirty". I would have preferred a clean glossy screen, even if it meant the tablet was unusable in daylight.
Unlike my $50 Digiland 701Q tablet from BestBuy, running Firefox on this tablet hasn't quit due to OOM yet. And I can actively Skype with someone, while simultaneously browsing with Firefox. Impressive!
I'm glad I returned the other two 701Qs to BB, this one is much, much, better.

just wondering but reading the reviews for the device say there's a preinstalled screen protector. removing it makes the colors less washed out.
There is a screen protector but I am going to leave it on there. Also, there is a small plastic film on the main camera lenses.
I was able to root the device with ease and now I can apply a fully functional adblock. I am extremely impressed with the device. The sound is good, the multitasking performance is great, and it does really well with youtube and chrome beta apps. I am very happy!
do you have any tips on making the tablets kid safe? don't want my sisters yelling at me lol
Just get a free antivirus from play store.do you have any tips on making the tablets kid safe? don't want my sisters yelling at me lol
How deep do you want to go? The best I've found is SureLock for Android, but it's $50 per license:

It basically locks EVERYTHING out of the screen (swipe-down notification center, settings button, etc.). You can customize the background wallpaper and which icons are on the homescreen. It's basically kiosk mode - zero access to anything, except what you authorize. Really great for kids because there's nothing they can screw up in the software that way. Downside is the software costs as much as the tablet does
I bought this for my mom, and her favorite slot machine game pharoah's way
says it's not compatible with this tablet. Every other app I've tried, even really graphic intensive ones work fine, but a silly slot machine won't. Anyone know why?
