Not bad, but not a fan of the aspect ratio. Something to consider, though.

Yeah, it will be a fine tablet if you don't set your expectations too high. Main problems that I see is lack of ram as for me, 1gb of ram is not enough. Cameras were also pretty terrible -10fps video recording and light sensitivity was off. But the main dealbreaker was the screen. The pixel density is low and the panel is extremely bad, which make your eyes work harder to make up for the blurry text.

627MB used, 1.3GB free.

Great, 2gb. Confirmed with another video on youtube.

Can't wait for mine to arrive!

This tablet can be rooted.

Link of a link leads to this guide. I can upload a zip folder that has everything ready, avoiding moving and extracting a bunch of files.

Recovery that you can use. You flash SuperSu from here(http://download.chainfire.eu/633/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.35.zip)

I really like this tablet. Add 2GB of memory to an average processor and you get this peppy little guy for $50 total. It helps living down the NJ turnpike from the NE warehouse. Free ship turns into overnight, for some items. Anyway, the display is OK for the 7 in size. Downloaded the IMDB app and looked at some movie trailers. Resolution, colors, and speed were all fine. The biggest problem that I've found is the sound. I first noticed the problem watching YouTube vids. I knew going in that there is only a single speaker. Though even with good earphones there seems to be not enough power for audio output. I discovered that nanny obstacle right away and that's not the problem. Put the POWERAMP app on it but that doesn't help for websites or YouTube. Is anyone else experiencing the same audio problems ? If it's just this unit I'll RMA it and try another. I like it a lot for $50.

I knew that audio would be weak as specs say 8 ohm impedance for an audio chip. Did you try some volume booster apps on play store?

I like the tablet, volume with stock ear phones is just fine for me, I do have volume all the way up though, but can hear just fine.

This deal is a really good deal on this tablet, I have several tablets, this tablet is a great deal for $45, beats out most tablets up to $150 range. Most tablets in the $150 and below price range only has 1GB ram, an usually 8GB internal sdcard, while this one has 2GB Ram, 16 GB internal sdcard.

The only downside I have found with tablet, is bootloader is locked, so can't flash custom boot.img or recovery.img, Iview has uploaded complete firmware and installer on their site for this tablet, as well as other tablets they sale., so if tablet gets bricked software and firmware is made available to users.

The deal is still active. I got my tablet yesterday and upon my simple evaluation, I am impressed for 50 bucks.

I got three of these for my soon to be five year olds for their birthday. Gonna install a bunch of kids apps and see how it lasts for them.

I'm really liking this tablet, at least considering the price point of $60.
Edit: Except for the anti-glare coating on the screen, it makes it seem permanently "dirty". I would have preferred a clean glossy screen, even if it meant the tablet was unusable in daylight.

Unlike my $50 Digiland 701Q tablet from BestBuy, running Firefox on this tablet hasn't quit due to OOM yet. And I can actively Skype with someone, while simultaneously browsing with Firefox. Impressive!

I'm glad I returned the other two 701Qs to BB, this one is much, much, better.

just wondering but reading the reviews for the device say there's a preinstalled screen protector. removing it makes the colors less washed out.

There is a screen protector but I am going to leave it on there. Also, there is a small plastic film on the main camera lenses.

I was able to root the device with ease and now I can apply a fully functional adblock. I am extremely impressed with the device. The sound is good, the multitasking performance is great, and it does really well with youtube and chrome beta apps. I am very happy!

Glad you were able to root your tablet, I have uploaded a Linux version of the root method, for guys like myself that don't use windows, works same as windows version, just made for Linux.

Also glad you like the tablet, I like it myself, works really well.

below is link for Linux root method via tethered CWM recovery.

do you have any tips on making the tablets kid safe? don't want my sisters yelling at me lol

How deep do you want to go? The best I've found is SureLock for Android, but it's $50 per license:

http://www.42gears.com/surelock/surelockandroid.html

It basically locks EVERYTHING out of the screen (swipe-down notification center, settings button, etc.). You can customize the background wallpaper and which icons are on the homescreen. It's basically kiosk mode - zero access to anything, except what you authorize. Really great for kids because there's nothing they can screw up in the software that way. Downside is the software costs as much as the tablet does

I bought this for my mom, and her favorite slot machine game pharoah's way
says it's not compatible with this tablet. Every other app I've tried, even really graphic intensive ones work fine, but a silly slot machine won't. Anyone know why?

This tablet has an Intel CPU. If they wrote their game in native ARM code, rather than the standard Android VM, then that could be reason.

Edit: For example, the skype.apk installed on both my ARM quad-core Cortex A7 DigiLand tablet, as well as this Intel CloverTrail tablet. But Firefox, I had to download the appropriate x86 or ARM binary apk to install properly.
