I doubt Trump gives a shit now that he's going to pick another Justice and the Democreeps are one old heartbeat away from Ginsburg croaking. Quick, better get her some cybernetic implants and put her on lifesupport until 2025 when the Democreeps have a remote chance of winning again.

Bullshit. How did the union do on healthcare & other benefits? Disciplinary representation? How did they do for the vast majority of members?

Unions aren't perfect. OTOH, ask your wife how badly the management could fuck up the work environment w/o the union.
Unions shouldn't be charging dues, it was akin to a (previously) legalized mafia shakedown. Pay Paulie his vig for your restaurant, or else. Luckily we have MAGASCOTUS.

Hell, we don't get many days or even weeks like this with the media calling for conservatives' heads. I just try to soak in the little wins before the pendulum swings back in 2021 or 2025.

Millions of Union retirees would beg to differ. Union dues were the best investment we ever made.

Seems that whenever there's a glimmer of some kind, any kind of success for Trump and his efforts to push America back to the dark ages where life was sooooo good for the plantation slave owners (who are now known as respected paragons of the business world lol) and the folks who felt that there was always a class of genetically inferior people they could look down their noses at and feel superior over, these "real" Americans as they exclusively describe themselves come out of the woodwork to strut around and get cocky about how right they were to vote for a pathological liar whose narcissism and egregiously vulnerable ego gets him into one hot mess after another.

Well good for them, they deserve every chance they get to prove to the rest of us how intelligent and justified they were to have put the most dangerous, the most unqualified, the most unfit person in the White House bar none.

I absolutely respect their right to address their concerns over how, for no goddamn reason whatsoever, THEIR president has been constantly maligned, insulted and harassed by the fake media, this fake Russia witch hunt and how Trump is head and shoulders superior to that monkey who sat in the White House before him.

Go for it. Get some. We need to have these voices heard.

Democrats have depended on Unions to fund their campaigns and keep them in power for decades. When organized crime was done milking organized labor dry and unions started losing their "power", Democrats had to find a way to extort money from people who didn't even belong to a union. SCOTUS finally took care of that problem a couple of days ago.

FTFY. No charge.

Good job!

I'ts on the opinion page. Should be titled "Another Union Scam Could Be About to End".

https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-union-scam-could-be-about-to-end-1531778546

It seems the Partial Public Employee was getting screwed over even more than the regular employees that didn't want to be unionized. I guess stealing money straight out of paychecks is the only way these unions can continue to exist. It's no coincidence that the decline of unions and the decline of organized crime in this country happened around the same time.

Good job!

Working class will suffer the most from gutting of the unions, as has been the case since it has started.
Many would view that as a natural market correction that fixes a problem where underskilled and overpaid workers held their employers hostage rather than earning fair market value for their "talents". The idea of longshoremen clerks making $150k and highway toll collectors making over $100k for making change for a buck is ludicrous.

Does OSHA have authority of state workplaces, I assume they do. OSHA will seriously slap your dick in the dirt if you have dangerous conditions at your workplace.
I'm not sure about the rest and I've never thought that the public negotiating with the public was a good idea but OSHA has gotten very good at mandating safe workplaces and enforcing them.

I do think that public sector unions should not be able to strike. In almost all cases they are providing a vital service that no one can step in to provide on short notice. Them striking can literally equate to holding a town/county/city hostage to get whatever they want. The services that they provide, for the most part, aren't things that I want to be made private either.

Yep. The whole country is now right to work. Funny how wages are lower in right to work states-

Why? Do we want good paying jobs or shitty jobs?

More people should be making $100K, not less. If that cuts in to the bottom line of people making megabucks it's foolish to shed any tears for them. They're still stupendously rich.

Oh yes, let's instead usher in the day when CEOs that don't know what the fuck they're doing are making $100milliong with a "I fucked up" triple incentive multiplier clause for shitcanning them after they fuck everything up instead, that's proven to be soooooo goddamned much better.

And we wonder what has happened to the middle class and social mobility in this country. Seriously you are the fucking problem.

Wow. 3.2% and $1500 difference. According to Pelosi that's crumbs. Hopefully they'll update the study to reflect the handful of states that are now RTW.

That's more money than most Americans will see from the GOP's big deal budget busting taxcuts for the Rich.

Good points
Take you for example. You are hurting the bottom line with your pay and leave and retirement. Should be pretty easy to ship the work out to Singapore, bring in some freshouts to do the work for %50 less.

Oh yes, it certainly fixed the "problem" of middle class existence for most workers.

What an ironically dumb example. Singapore is one of the richest nations on earth. The only problem they have with cheap labor is doing exactly what your ilk advocates for right here- entice in cheap illegal foreign labor and turn whole sectors of their economy into "Jobs Singaporeans won't do".

Your hypothetical company need not leave the US to chop its labor costs.

Just set up sweatshop in your "Sanctuary City" (READ: cheap illegal labor free for all zone) and have at it.

Then get loons like you to berate American citizens about how lazy the are because they won't work 16 hours, 7 days a week, for $1.20 per hour.

It's hilarious to see the cheap illegal labor cheerleaders on the left whine about wages!

Fuck off. Your ilk has been doing all it can to allow fatcats to undermine labor for years. Never met a labor or immigration law you didn't want ignored so long as it greases the illegal labor racket.
