Surgical Loupe Repair?

Does anyone know if Surgical Loupes can be repaired? I think that because they are used uniquely by each doctor, the pupil distance and focal length all have to be tailored to each physician.

Just trying to find out if anyone knows about this. One of the doctors where I work needs to get his adjusted, and every place I call says they don't fix them. I assume it is because you can't.

I have a loupe for when I go rock & fossil hunting. I imagine you could get em repaired like any other precision optical device

I thought they were self adjustable similarly to how you adjust binoculars.

Yes, that's what I thought, but apparently not. Every place I've called said they didn't fix them. One guy told me it couldn't be fixed, that brand new ones had to be purchased.

$3000 for new ones though. But they are doctors. That should be worth having equipment that you can perform surgery safely with, ya think?

I don't know but the docs look damn fine with them specs on. Nerdfactor x 5005.
