We have a "In-Challenge"-race going on between BOINC@MIXI (#11), TeAm AnandTech (#12) and Polish national Team (#13). We keep changes places in the stats.
Can we recruit some more crunchers?
We need all the power we can get!
Yikes! First WU had error after a minuteI'll be in with my gpus. As I recall we need to clock down the memory frequency on factory overclocked cards?
Oh man. I wish I could join, but I just don't have enough rack space or amperage to fire up the GPU cluster. 36 cores, 192GB RAM, 24 GTX 680s... damnit. I'm already drawing 11 amps per phase off my 15 amp PDUs.... I'm pretty sure I'll draw more than 8 amps off each PDU for the cluster.
I have a GTX560 Ti 448 Core. I think that means it is factory OC'ed?GTX550s are particularly sensitive and tend to need to be underclocked.
Not necessarily. The 448 cores version is essentially a faster gtx 470. Compare your clock speeds to stock clocks here.I have a GTX560 Ti 448 Core. I think that means it is factory OC'ed?
I guess it's possible to have a bad WU in GFN, but the chances are extremely low. Stock clock and/or underclock and/or add more cooling (e.g. case fans) and/or turn up your card's fans as high as you can stand them. And it erred half way through on a WU that three others erred out on. Should I underclock the memory or ignore that WU?
First off, I don't think GFN draws any more power than FAH. But maybe you weren't using the GTX 680s on that either?
Second, you should be able to configure BOINC to use only a few of those GPUs, if that helps.
Besides the folks running GPUs in this race, has anyone turned in any CPU tasks yet? I'm curious to see how Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge and the FX-8000 series CPUs are doing overall. I'm running roughly 80 hours for ~50% completed.
Theoretically, I'll return CPU tasks in 30 - 37 hrs. This is with HT off on an i2600K.
I have 2 gpu tasks waiting for validation. Should have another 2 tonight.
I started late to the game so I'm hoping I can get some cpu tasks in before the deadline.
Have an fx8120 and 2 1055t's going.
Unclear, but at least with the new recruits we're not losing ground to Poland et al. Although we really don't know who has CPU work running.---and are we gaining on EVGA???
