Since Samsung released the "DTL" version of its PC2700 RAM some have said that it won't overclock as well as the "CTL" version and others have said that it does every bit as well. So lets find out what the real story is, just post your maximum *stable* memory speed using the "DTL" version of the Samsung PC2700 here!

Please list both the DDR speed, as well as the timings (i.e., DDR 400 @ 2.5-3-3-6T)

Come on, I know some of you have overclocked your Samsung "DTL" RAM. I think gsethi got over DDR400 on his EPoX board with it.

2.9 volts. 1.65 chip volts. 1.6a at 150 bus. Cannot boot up at 400mhz ddr no matter what. Have not tried anything else keeping it at 1:1 whatever that is.

people should say if they burned it in or not. And maybe how long they needed to burn it in?

Also how big a memory stick it is (256mb or 512mb)

the 2 sticks samsung DTL cannot sustain agressive timing even at 150fsb, i must set them at default in the bios of my p4b533.

375Mhz at default voltage.

I haven't tried higher than 150FSB because I need absolute stability for my graphic work.

One Stick of 512mb PC2700 DLT
Voltage: Default
Speed: 376mhz DDR
Motherboard: Abit BG-7 (HIGH,4:5 Ratio)
CPU: 1.6a@2.4ghz

Cannot do 400mhz DDR tried upping voltage all the way to 2.8. Attempted burn in using Sandra and 376mhz DDR at 2.8 voltage for over 12 hours. Did not make any different.

I got one 512 MB DTL Samsung PC2700, 0221 batch. Burned them in with Memtest overnight, I think at 166, 2.5 volts, fastest settings.

On a yucky MSI 645E MAX-LRU board (waiting on the SIS648 chipset, maybe this week in Akihabara for the Abit!): 170, 2-2-2-5-1, and darn thing will do DDR400 at 2.5-3-3-6-1. Sandra scores are around 2650/2650. I think I needed 2.8 volts at DDR400, 2.5 at 170.

On a P4B266-E, haven't tested 1:1 since I'm locked out at 2.5-3-3-7 anyway, but it will do DDR413 at those settings. Sandra scores are typical of that setting for that board:3100/3000. Stage 1 jumper on for the ram voltage. Not sure what that means voltage-wise.

I bet if I run this stick on a P4S533 (which I got rid of), have a feel it will probably do 200, 2-2-2-5-1.

I am burning in 2-256 MB DTL sticks now, dated 0224. They look to be pretty good. They did around 170, 2-2-2-5-1 and 193, 2.5-3-3-7 out of the box.

BTW, tested a Corsair XMS3200, Rev. 1.2 (Samsung C chips, not Winbond), and they will not do DDR400 on the MSI board, even though the DTL stick did it. However, this 512 MB stick will do DDR426 on the P4B266-E! Sandra scores are 3200/3100. The DTL stick wouldn't even post at DDR426 on this board. I'm running 160 FSB, 3:4 using the BIOS workaround. Tested stable in all my 3D stress tests. This is the best combo I can do with my DDR rigs. Knocking on 16k 3DMark2000 scores with my Ti 4600.

P4 1.6A on P4S533
Samsung PC2700 DTL, one 256Mb stick
2,3,3,6,1t
@138MHZ FSB, 4:6 ratio = 207 MHZ(414 DDR), 2.7 v.
@150MHZ FSB, 4:5 ratio = 187.5 MHZ (375 DDR), 2.7 v.

Fastest settings that Prime95 and PCmark2001 would work flawlessly for 4 hours or more.

185Mhz at 2.7.
2.8 gives artifacts and will not boot into Windows.
I have slowly ramped it up at 2.6V.
I dropped the CPU to 9X just to test the max memory bandwidth.

Darn,
I just about 3 days back ordered the DTL cause I needed some RAM wid my new rig but now hearing about this I am having second thoughts. Now I checked newegg and it's back in stock. Should I return it for the CTL?Anyone got any real confirming results on getting DTL to burn in properly?If so please share more experiences with us.
Thanks,

I can run mine(Samsung 3rd party pcb) at 190mhz with memory settings of cas 2,2,2,6,2 at 2.83 volts.This is with the setting to Fast, increased performance for benchmark and enhance memory performance all turned on in bios. It seems pretty good for $90 Canadian.This is in an Abit KX7-333R motherboard with an Athlon XP 1600 Agoia "4" at 1750mhz at default voltage. It won't run the most aggressive settings at even 166mhz but it does 190 when you drop just a couple of the settings down.I still get a pretty good score in Sandra memory.
