SVC rounded cable blow out

SVC is having a sale on rounded cables. From their e-mail:

"As the holiday season approaches, SVC would like to offer rounded cables at wholesale cost. Most vendors are selling these cables (or other inferior designs) for double to triple and in some cases four times the price. How can anyone continue to use restrictive ribbon cables at these prices??"


10" floppy cables $1.75 (was $2.14)
10" & 18" IDE cables $2.99 (was $3.99)
18" dual IDE cables $3.25 (was $3.99)

I just listed a few of the ones on sale. SVC already had the lowest prices on round cables and now they are dirt cheap, hard to imagine them going any lower. I think the sale may be ending tomorrow, the 17th, but I'm not sure.

Nope, been using them for a while now in several systems, the only times I see it mentioned is in cables longer than 24"

I've bought 3 rounded cables from them in the past and they've worked flawlessly. This is definitely a hot deal.

I've got a dozen or so of their cables. No problems at all. These are the twisted pair cables so data loss shouldnt be a concern.

I did too, and I agree. No data loss, much easier to plug in (imo), and looks better (again, imo). definitely a nice deal!

I ordered a bunch of these last summer when they dropped prices,

been very pleased, and they glow in the dark too- makes it easier
to find my way around when upside down, under the desk, taking my
server case apart for newest upgrade and the batteries die in my
gf's flashlight

Wow great prices on cables.

Gonna get myself a new floppy cable as the 10" I got is stretched a little tight for my tastes given the location of the floppy connector on the ECS motherboard.

I have a Antec 1040 with a 8k7a+, which cables do I need to get?

I have never bought cables for it before so I really don't know what length I need to buy, can anybody help me out

I have heard of people having a problem in the past but they were using "not so good" cables. I purchased a few from SVC almost a year ago and have not had a single problem with them.

They work great.

Nice, I am just building a new system! Picked up lots of cables, some 3 to 4 pin fan adapters for .50 each too. I have the new 1080AMG Antec case, and I think the 24inch cable should do fine reaching the top two slots for my DVD and CDRW since I have the KT3Ultra2 and it has the IDE and Floppy connecters at the back of the MB right by the Hard drive cage so 24in should do me fine.

I got an Antec 1040 case. I use two duel 18 inchers for my ide's, and a 10 incher for my floppy. btw, I got those translucent ones from svc. I love the floppy one since it is soo thin and saves space. the other cables are like normal round cable size. so if you get those 24 inchers you'll be overdoing it and cables will stick out. with my 18 inchers, the cables already stick out.
