I think the length of cables required has more to do with your motherboard rather than what case you have. For example, my motherboard is the Epox 8KHA+ and the IDE connectors are placed near the very bottom of my motherboard, whereas the Asus A7V333 has the IDE connectors near the top of the motherboard. So, you might want to check your motherboard and measure so you don't order cables that are too short/too long.

The flexibility of rounded cables in general is very good. The only thing I don't like about the cheaper ones - the boot will sometimes get all twisted.

Guys take caution when ordering for SVC... Last wed i ordered 3 UV Cables and 2 UV fans... The only thing they had in stock was the fans. This wed i still hadn't received a package so i claled them and they told me they were out of stock since the monday before then. Why were they still listed as in stock on their website then. The guy proceeded to tell me they were expecting a shipment in a couple days. Well friday i received and email saying it woudl be a couple more weeks cause of the port lock out... Umm i live close to seattle and that ended a few weeks ago so i'm sure everything should be back to normal by now. Long story short i said piss on these guys and canceled my order. That thing that pissed me off the most. They charged my credit card last thursday and expected me to wait 3 weeks to receive my order while they have had my money the whole time.

Damn Hot Deals Forum is going to be the death of me, or at least my wallet! Just picked up two translucent UV sensitive IDE and one UV Sensitive Floppy one. Total impulse buy! I have been looking at (make that drooling over) these for a while, but really have little use for them, as I don't overclock and cooling isn't really that much of an issue. They just LOOK really cool. The real killer is not the cost of these cables, but the cost of the case with the UV sensitive Side window, and lighting kit to justify it. (Also on sale ) Oh, yeah, and an AMD mobo and chip, and...and.. somebody stop me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is a reply to multiple comments from above.

regarding the length of cables you'll need for your system, tbates is right. it will also depend on your motherboard. I have a gigabyte 7dx (ga-7dx) and the ide connections from the motherboard are high. actually as I'm looking at the cables again it seems like it would fit even if the ide connectors were low. but it would take the full length of the cable. anyhow here's a rough stech of the cable ]==========|===[ the end connecting to the motherboard's ide is longer so it is pretty lengthy.

now in regards to the flexibily of the cables, I'd say the that the translucent ones I got, (and the clear ones I replaced which were vantecs) were hard to bend, kind of like a rubber hose but a bit looser. but you *can* flip/turn the connectors (like a nutbolt turns on a screw) around if they are facing the wrong direction, after all they are round cables

Just bought all black
10" floppy
2x10"ide single
18" ide dual
vantec fan I've been meaning to get.

fan was $1 cheaper at case-mod.com or something but might as well bulk shipping here.

There goes my lunch money for the week

And to think I almost considered paying 5-10 bucks for these things...

DOH. Translusent cables are not on sale. Oh well.

Is there any difference in flexibility between the silver/copper cables and the plastic ones?

Ordered:

1 x 10" IDE ATA100/133
2 x 18" IDE ATA100/133
1 x 18" Dual IDE ATA100/133
1 x 10" Floppy

All black.

Thanks for posting the deal

And I read many of the reseller ratings comments and pretty much a lot said they were out of stock, but didn't report it as so on their website (as someone here also noted). I still ordered since I'm not in a big hurry to get the cables, but others might want to take it into consideration.

Is it me or are they now charging more for shipping?

Ordered some cables and stuff from them in the past and the shipping was dirt cheap.

Just ordered $40 worth of cables and screws (can't be more than a pound or two, usps says should cost $5 for 2 pounds) and the shipping is $11.

Is this the ole, put things on sale jack up the handling trick?

Or maybe a few IDE cables are heavier than I thought.....

Also it may be my connection (modem), or they are getting hammered but using their web site was a painful ordeal. I think it is partly just bad design for low bandwidth users, like having a jpeg of each thing you order when you check out....

I think they changed how they compute their shipping. Case in point... cold cathode tube ship 1st class for $2.35. Add 10 thumbscrews and you're up to $4something for shipping. I wonder if they're still shipping in the USPS boxes with little to no padding or if they've upgraded their shipping methods.

Yeah there shipping has went up and up. I remember when they first opened. You could order a ton of stuff and shipping would be $4-6 USPS. And when you would get it. It cost them $11 and up. Guess they are getting even. But not outrageous.

Oh well.

WOW their shipping did go up. $9 for 5 cables. Last year it was like $4 shipping for like 15 metal fan grills.

Thanks for answering my original question.

Doesn't it depend on where you live too? I can tell you I bought about 8 round cables and a 120mm fan a few days before this new sale started (yeah i missed the deal and payed a bit more for the cables ) and the shipping was around $7.50. I thought the shipping was pretty reasonable though. I live in CA... I'm guessing it would cost more to ship across the country.

5 rounded cables to Southern CA is $5.xx, which isn't bad. $21.17 total is pretty good...$4.23 per cable including shipping and tax (though different kinds of cables).

2 cables, Priority mail, $5 shipping..... Pretty much the starting point on charges, from what I'm seeing.

I just bought a bunch of these cables last tuesday, the red ones, and so far I can vouche for the quality of them. Very flexible, almost too much ...

The shipping with them is weird lately though. They specificly say that they are one of the few online stores to charge exact shipping and not any handling fees. But shipping on a single cathode to me was $6.90... shipping on a cathode and 1 24" round cable was $6.19. Since when does the price go down??? And then, if I added an 18" dual device cable the price of shipping jumped to $11 something, but an 18" single device cable was $6.29... I think they use a random number generator for shipping...
