SVC rounded cable blow out

Damn phones don't even give me the answering machine anymore. Should I just call my CC and dispute the charge and refuse the package if I don't hear from them soon?

My order for 5 copper round ide cables and 2 tubes of artic silver 3 came in fine

plus priority shipping was only $6 bucks and change

They sent me the two tracking numbers and then a few days later some other guy there responded to the same e-mail w/ a random UPS tracking number for a shipment to WA (I'm in MN) - weird
Buddy of mine just placed another order for us on this latest sale and they also charged him immediately.
Don't know if he got the goods yet.
Great prices here so I'll put up w/ the service as long as everything's end up correct in the end.
I can understand the logitics of trying to run one of these places could get overwhelming and mistakes do occur - it's the speed a level of satisfaction of the correction that's important to me and they're good on those counts so far.
BTW - colored thumb screws are the smaller ones that aren't quite as nice as the wider headed ones (see microcenter) but still better than ones that require a screwdriver.

Just take a look at their "Overall product replacement service" ratings on resellerratings and you'll get the picture.
If things go well then everything is fine. However, if something goes wrong, you're in for it. I learned the hard way.

I thought it was odd since they mention on their webpage that "only low quality cables with connectors that are prone to fall apart come with pull-tabs." BUT the Vantec came with pull tabs..

Also, I order a blue cable and I got a Vantec clear cable. At least the length was right. I wouldn't mind too much but I ordered that one for a friend.

heheh...same here...i ordered some newer uv sensitive cables (4 dual device ides) since the site says older pull tabs are lower quality, but all the ones i received were vantecs WITH pull tabs. i already had rounded cables too (i thought they were "poor quality" b/c of the tabs). oh well, not that big a deal. however, i ordered a couple of the dual color red/blue cold cathodes, and the red is PINK! sucks, because these are supposed to be the newer, better quality ones. i emailed for an rma, but haven't heard anything from them yet. my pm to the "anandtecher" who works there is still unanswered as well.

Well SVC finally came thru and fixed the error on my previous order with the Fan. Tony Luu, is still lurking here on the boards and trying to fix any customer problems that crop up, I wonder why he got banned in the first place though? Seems like he was here to help fellow AT'ers? Anyway he picked up on my disgruntle here, and sent me an email asking to help, which he did within 24hrs of me sending him an email explaining the problem. Its nice to see a vendor with quality people like "Tony" who still give a dam with so many of the online vendors who simply hide behind the keyboard when there is a problem. My cable order too was great, The 18in dual IDE cable was the perfect length for My MSI KT3 Ultra2 and Antec Plus 1080AMG case with DVD and CDRW in top slots. Just a note, I chose 3 day res on my most recent oder which was only like an extra $2.50 and it got here in 4 days, whereas my previous order on ground got here in like 11 days, to me its worth the extra few bucks.

Sent me a few more cables than I wanted. No extra charge according to visa either.

What's my obigation here?

If it were me, I'd contact them and ask how they want to handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if they told you to just keep them, since you acted with integrity and shipping them back would likely cost as much as just getting more stock (since shipping would come out of their pockets), but even if they did arrange for them to be shipped back, you wouldn't be losing out anyway.

Honesty and decency are generally the best way to deal with people you expect to be honest and decent with you. As I said, though, that's just if it were me. *shrug*

It's weird there are no packing slips in either of the boxes so it's hard to see what they thought they sent.

Does SVC not use packing slips?

I've got two of some things one of some other things. It's almost like they just randomly fill the boxes.

I'm not sure where I stand on this.

Vendor sends you more than you order.

Legaly is the excess yours?

Moraly is the stuff they send (give) you yours?

Can they charge your credit card for the excess???

Could this be a way to drum up sales? Send more than people order. Wait a week, Charge them for excess. hope they don't complain?

If they send it to you and you don't request it, legally you have no obligation to return it...(atleast thats what my dad told me about 20 years ago when i got some stamps in the mail for my stamp collection. )

Now if they want to come buy and pick it up thats another story.

Are you a better person for it to contact them and let them know? Imo, yes!

Also, I can almost guarantee you they ask for them back but I can also almost guarantee you that they will look into the person who packed the order.

It's been my experience that SVC has not been putting a packing slip in the package for tha past several months. I always print out my orders when I place them online so that I can verify that I received everything. I ordered about 10 cables from them and received them yesterday. My order was correct.

I ordered some fan wire adapters last year or so I believe, and as I recall, they did take a lot longer to ship than their website says. When they finally shipped them, they did go USPS priority so they did get here fairly soon after....But, if you pay for like 3 or 4 day shipping, but they take a week or more to leave the store, what good is that? I've read a lot of posts and ratings on this company, SVC and it seems the service is inconsistent at best. Some say it's great, no problems, but those who've had a problem or two have apparently gone through hell. I guess if I ordered rounded cables now and the order gets messed up I could always do a dispute with AMEX, but is it worth the hassle? Any thoughts?

I put an order in for about $45.00 over a week ago, my CC has been charged. I can not get a shipping status from them, heck i can't even get a reply from my email. I Don't think i will be ordering from them again, i would rather pay a little more and get better customer service.

ah hell. i placed an order for cables and other stuff totaling ~$60......over a month ago! the order was held up on the AL fan they have and i waited about 3 -4 weeks for it. finally, when i was going to call them to have them cancel the fan and ship the rest, i get an email stating they shipped it via UPS.

lo and behold, i get something from the USPS guy thursday from them. the order was as if it was someone else's. hardly anything was mine. the odd thing was, this package i got shipped USPS. not UPS. so im hoping they messed up on my order and im getting some free stuff. i think i deserve something considering i have been waiting for over a month so patiently.

i really dunno what is up with this company. they used to be sooo good about shipping things out. i wonder if they are under new management or if they have a new crew working. they went from 8's on reseller to 3's in my book.

Since SVC has inconsistent/questionable service can anyone recommend a merchant that sells decent quality rounded cables at decent prices? Thanks....

My order came in fine. I orderd two 10" single dev, a 18" double dev, and a vantec stealth fan. Everything came in on time and in working condition. The only thing that sucked was that the IDE cable connector has the ground pin hole sealed. I have an old old old abit bh6 motherboard and it's ide controller has that ground pin in place so I had to drill a small hole in the ide cable connectors so that I could plug it into my mobo. Most new mobo's have that pin taken out. Cables work perfectly, I'm happy with them and the service.

I ordered a 3 chain SCSI rounded cable, copper heatsink for memory, and a dual fan for my HD.

First, USPS blows. I got the tracking number but it kept on saying that it hasn't been shipped yet, I was getting worried. Needless to say I was surprised when I it was delivered and the website still said that they got an order to pick it up. I ordered it Saturday morning and it was in on Wednesday. Everything was there, no more, no less.

The quality is top-notch! I was using my SCSI cable that came with my 29160 and I could never get it to get U160. I put in this cable and wow... performance definitely increased. I had a little trouble installing the HD fans, but that has to do with my case.

I will definitely bookmark that place and order from them again.

You know the old saying "Action speaks louder than words"? So far all of the complaints I've read about have not been rectified by SVC. Now at least a reply, but still "lip service" IMHO, it seems SVC is way understaffed for the amount of business they are doing.
It takes money to make money. I don't think I'm placing another order until I see some positive results.
