Holy Saw dust!!

I'm in it's worth a shot. Don't have an immediate need but I could have used one in the past. I've ordered from Harbor Freight before - no problems.

You should note that it's a 5" Bandsaw... it's a hobbyist saw for making minatures, not a "full-fledged" shop bandsaw.

Fortunately I've got ferrets and a cat so this will be extremely useful as I'm building them some... toys.

It's Harbor Freight!!! Don't you guys know this place? THey are known for selling hordes of cheap tools and equiptment, all unknown 3rd tier brands. I would mention they are made in China, but so are some of the top tier brands .

Anyways, seeing some of their prices in the past, I WOULDN'T be too surprised if it actually wasn't a price mistake. I had a friend buy tons of stuff from them, I've heard of such similar prices, $30 drill presses, $10 angle grinders, etc. Some of them have held up, some of them haven't, but either way, he never had to worry about getting them messed up, at those prices they are pretty much disposable, could definately be a hot deal.

A note on the harbor freight stuff.

I've purchased a fair amount of tools from there. They've all held up pretty well for me, but then again, I'm a programmer. So, I don't use them every day.

For people who are going to occasionally use the tools, they'll hold up fine. For professionals or very serious hobbyists, you might want to get something better. BUT, one nice thing is they offer a replacement warranty on a lot of their stuff.

Oh well, the deal is dead anyway.

Harbor Freight is the very low end for tools, a lot of them don't even have a name on them. Might be ok for a bit of DIY work, but not much else.

By the, did anyone read the actual email? This is the first time I have ever seen an email that directly places blame on a single individual rather than blaming it on the company, a piece of equipment or whatever else they can think up to move blame away from someone. An actually apology and an admitted mistake by a real person! Woah, I think the sky is falling...

Kevin Gordon I serious doubt is a real name lol. When I worked at a telemarketing company doing customer service for cells phones our VP of the complaints dept was "named" Kevin Gordon. Funniest thing ever. People would call and ask to speak to him or what his email was and they actually had #'s and adresses for us to give out but the person DIDN"T exist. LOL> It was even better when people would say they were friends of Kevin Gordon or had spoken to him. I bet this is the same kinda deal.

Not everything at Harbor Freight has the quality of SnapOn or DeWalt, but then again some of the stuff they carry is rebadged higher end stuff. I call that place my crack dealer for tools.
