Ya, just trying to make people jealous...lol. Actually I drove to the store specifically for that beer (only about a 15 minute drive). Then I got there and they said they were already sold out b/c it was "employees get 40% off day" so the employees pretty much bought them all. Then when I was looking for a replacement beer for a beer tasting gathering this weekend, he came back out with 2 bottles and said nobody claimed them and I could have 1 or both.

So kind gentleman who was stocking the beer shelves...I salute you a hero today!

I forgot which one it was, but i didn't like the "rarer" one, either it is the Younger or the Elder. I love IPA, but that rarer one is... too much for me to handle.

same with Dogfish Head (any 'Minute'), I can't handle the taste.

Pliny always tastes better up in Norcal. Here in Socal, you can tell the difference in taste. It's one of those beers that changes pretty dramatically with age (and I don't have the palate to be able to say that with subtle differences).

Ya, I live in the Bay Area, but don't get much time to drive up to RR Brewery. I need to one of these days though. I'm not a huge IPA guy, my friends are. I think I'd like some of their other stuff like just pale ale, or a stout or porter. I just hear to much about Pliny I had to get some. Younger is the rare one that is only available for like 3 weeks a year in February. Elder is a double IPA, Younger is a triple IPA I believe....too much hoppy for me, I'd like to try it once though.


I like discussing beer. Oh, and all the bottles have a "bottled on" date stamped on. Mine say "April 17, 2013". That's some fresh beer!

I got lucky a few weeks ago at the local Beer Market. Friend asked for Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout, and surprisingly, they had it. it was limit 1 per person, but, there were 6 of us at the table, so, all 6 of us each had 1. Was quite a delicious treat.

We do have a few good microbreweries around here, and of course a nice selection of Sam Adams, which has some great stuff.
