We just moved into a brand-spanking-new-still-under-construction building at school. Let me tell you this building is a beauty, and they stocked it to be every geeks wet dream.
Very nice new classes, all geared towards power point presentations but also for regular blackboard teaching. Each class has two very large retractable screens and (impressively) bright projectors. Comfy chairs and ample workspace for each students (none of those retarded half-desks).
The whole building is Wi-fi enabled, I have yet to find a dead spot.
There are over 800 computers in the building, of which about 80% are brand new P4 2.66 GHz Gateways. All have beautiful 18" LCDs (running off of DVI GeForce4 Ti4200s for the general purpose ones).
3rd Floor Computers (approx. 150 of them) are all running Red Hat Linux or FreeBSD.
4th and 5th Floor Computers (a truckload, didn't count) are running Win2k or WinXP Pro.
Some labs are dedicated for software validation and run a slew of different hardware and software.
I should note that the Intarweb feels very fast on them... faster than 5 mbit/s up and down on DSL Reports but I'm not sure of the accuracy of that.
Times like these remind me why I chose this major
