Heh, I just read where you were from. I've heard that Sweetest Day is a Midwest thing and that nobody on the east or west coast has ever heard of it. I only wish we were the same.

It's basically a "Hallmark Holiday" exactly like Valentine's Day, but even more worthless as it isn't official. However, once your girl finds out about it, you WILL BE expected to get her something. No matter how lame she may say it is, you know damn well she'll be pissed off if she doesn't get something.

Yep. I agree wholeheartedly. My buddies were at a Lone Star a year ago. The waitress asked them what they were doing alone on that day. They responded with blank stares. She said, "It's sweetest day." They said WTF?

I concur. I grew up on the East Coast, and had never heard of SD before coming to Chicago. Now it's in every store that sells Hallmark! I call bullsh!t!
