$9.88 at Sam's, purchased on 2/13. I got one of three red ones. They were well hidden.
"Office Space" is pretty much the theme where I work. (minus cubicles) I had to take my stapler home for fear of it disappearing.

All I can add id Fry's has had these on shelves for a long time, std price of around $14.99ish. Cheap enough to be a fun addition to your cube, close enough to the movie to be an attention getter. I didn't know it wasn't an "exact" copy, a purist I am not

The original is based on the 646 Designer Series.

Maroon Version available from OfficeDepot.com only.

So it basically comes down to buying the Red one (wrong design), or buying the one listed above (correct design) and painting your own.

I was considering just using the OfficeDepot one but dang, it HAS to be Red to be funny.

So I went with the $9.40 one at Sam's Club (right color, wrong design).

Save the $7.95 shipping charge if you're going to paint it anyway!

I'm still no purist, but all I recall is it was referred to simply as a "red Swingline". If I recall correctly, he (Milton) kept the Swingline when the company switched to Boston staplers which jammed too often for him. Hmmm, maybe I do recall too much of this...
