Switch recommendations

I'm looking to buy some 24port switches. I need 10/100 and 2 Gig ports copper or fiber. I have looked at some different switches from Linksys, Netgear, and Cnet.

What do you guys think of those companies and the quality and performance of their products. Also, recommendations on other switches. I'm on a pretty tight budget, not wanting to spend more than $700 per switch.

In my opinion, a great and yet very cheap way of acheiving good results is to go with SMC networks:

I have the 16-port 10/100 EZ Switch (1016DT), there is a 1024DT model for your 24 ports requirement, plus there are many variations including gigabit switches, and fibre optic options (DFT models).

My 16-port switch (capable of maximum 3.2Gbps throughput - I think the 24 port is 4.8Gbps) is rackmountable, and for all this only cost me £140. Although the DFT models will be far more, I think they are within your budget

Cisco 2950T - 24 10/100, 2 copper Gig. A great switch. ~US$1100.00.

I like 'em so much I use 'em at home .....

I've been really pleased with my D-link switch. Got it for an awsome price too. Never used a 24-port switch though.

A few days late, but I have a very good suggestion: Dell. Yeah, their adds are annoying and they're not the first person you think of with networking, but they have good cheap stuff. In their PowerConnect Series they have a simple un-managed 2124 24 port 10/100 + 1 gigabit for only $300! If you're looking for a higher-end managed they have 24+2's for only $700.
