Switching from W11 to W10 question.

Since I am still on windows 10, this is where I decided to post this question. I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 11. Are all the kinks worked out yet, or do you think it is safe to make the plunge? That is my question, and will ask a 2nd question only after I kind of get a census of what people are doing? I have not worked much with W10 on many computers so am not sure what kind of changes will take place.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Task/Menu bar can not be moved from the bottom of the screen. That's my biggest beef. The Start Menu is rather meh as well, but I rarely use it. Other than that it has been ok for me. I'm a rather casual user though, not going far beyond Gaming/Web stuff. So there could be other things I'm unaware of.

If you create an image of your Win10 install (which you should do anyways), you can try Win11 as long as you like. If you don't like it or can't customize it to suite your needs, put the image of Win10 back.

That's what I did when I tried it out (hated it, but is was stable). I mostly missed the fact that you couldn't install a quick launch on the taskbar. Or customize the taskbar at all really. I have read of ways to do that now with 3rd party explorer patcher. So I may try 11 again soon.

Support for 10 ends in 2025, so it'll have to be done sooner or later.

If your system allow easy switch of SSD.

Buy a second SSD, clone Win 10 to it. Install Win 11 on top of the Clone and use both until you make up your mind.

I've installed W11 on all my machines when it first dropped. No significant issues. If you upgrade on top of your existing W10 OS, you can revert to it if you don't like W11.

Windows 11 is ok. I put classic shell on my systems so it alleviates the start menu mess. Being an IT guy I just hate that a lot of the system management stuff is buried and taken out of control panel. And the right click menu crap, and the cut and paste icons instead of just cut or past. I always dislike mac for this reason and microsoft aping apple is just annoying AF.

I saw JayzTwoCents, on one episode, install a Win10 Pro upgrade, OVERTOP of a Win11 Pro install, and it "upgraded" to Win10 Pro, and kept his programs and data.

I was kind of floored that you could do such a thing.

I bought Startallback for the same reason.

I have a weird Win11 bug that crops up every now and again.
I can't Lclick or Rtclick on the taskbar. I can click anywhere else. I can pull up the start menu with the WinKey but then I have to tab around the menu or use the arrow keys.
If I pull up the task manager there's bits of that I can't click on either so it's tabbing around that. Restarting winExplorer doesn't fix it and a restart usually fixes it but sometimes it carries over a restart.
It's weird.

Could be a graphics driver bug.
I guess it could be, gfx driver bugs can be weird.
Seems more of a windows bug though as it's really localised to one bit of windows. I can click anywhere else it's just the taskbar, start menu and bits of the task manager. Taskbar and start menu are fine when navigated with the M+KB (which is kinda what I do normally anyway so I don't always notice that I'm bugged for a bit), the task manager is weirder.
