. #2 some sort of created pseudo human could be interesting, but why the hell does she still have the bandage on. The "armor" worn by the boarding party, WTF was that crap. Fully expecting now for them to get blamed for the planet.

She used the bandage to make the other people think she still was injured and to cover it up as it healed too fast.

As for the armor it was cheesy looking but at least it worked as she shot them multiple times where it covered and had to use the guns where it didn't such as in the neck area or with a knife there.

DM: Kinda fishy how easily they first managed to get captured. #2 some sort of created pseudo human could be interesting, but why the hell does she still have the bandage on. The "armor" worn by the boarding party, WTF was that crap. Fully expecting now for them to get blamed for the planet.
Well they are kind of responsible for the planet in a roundabout way.

It sort of looked like the planet imploded. My guess is that the increasing gravity at the point of detonation created tidal forces that ripped the rest of the planet apart and then sucked in most of the debris. That's my popsci guess anyway.

I like the engineered human angle. It goes along with the Red-17 theme in Killjoys. BTW, read that they plan at least one crossover episode between DM and KJ next season so that would explain the parallel subplots.

I'd be really surprised if that happened. They are not produced by the same company. Killjoys is a co-production. Dark Matter is an import.

In any case, here's to a S2 renewal for Killjoys. Because with that cliffhanger, anything else would be cruel and unusual punishment of nerds.

Yeah, a crossover would be odd, and I didn't think the subplots were that similar, but then again for the crossover idea both shows began as pure Canadian productions on Space, and then with both shows, SyFy got involved later.

I like them both, but overall I prefer Dark Matter, mainly because I'm finding the backstory of Killjoys getting a bit convoluted.

Not too mention killjoys should be almost like a new show in sense of the backstory with all the major political events that just occurred.

There's something off about Killjoys. Its like its trying too hard edgy or extreme or something.

Yeah that too. The edginess seems a bit forced.

I'm not surprised though. It's hard to do true edginess with mainstream actors and mainstream writers on Canadian sci-fi show budget. It often turns out that way. Similarly, who would ever really believe that the girl on Dark Matter is a street kid? She was an obnoxious princess on Stargate: Atlantis, and I'd say she was much more believable in that role.

I just choose to ignore her street kid backstory, and look at her more as the resident computer geek.

Ditto. Not sure if this is really the actress's fault, but she's too polite and well spoken to easily buy that she had anything less than a proper upbringing.

I just realized we're getting a double dose tonight. They're running episodes 12 and 13 in one go, so the season comes to a close tonight.

That synopsis of Dark Matter sounds like the writer was watching some long lost re-runs of Mission Genesis. (back when Nicole de Boer was super cute)

I have a hard time even seeing her as a kid. Just short. She doesn't look any younger than some of the other actors, although she is. She turns 21 in a month. She is hot though.

The dyed hair looks doesn't even make her look like a street kid either, and a random street kid isn't going to have her education level either. Then again, they haven't gone far into her background as to how she became a vagrant either at least.

Yeah when the whole team's identities were unknown, based on her mannerism I was guessing that she's some kind of princess or something and the others are her guards.

Because we don't really know her detailed back story yet, the princess thing could still be true (princess in disguise, or lost as a baby, whatever), but then we already have a prince on the run, so they're probably not going to rehash that.

They will. And she is.

She already said as much. Remember the scene where she was recounting a dream sequence of hurting some palace intruders by scooping their eye balls out? That wasn't 4's memory and it certainly isn't anyone else's memory sequence on that ship.

Just did a long survey about Killjoys, guess they're deciding whether to renew and what to show if they do.

While doing it was thinking about the crossover, you have KJ mostly focused in one system and everyone talks about "the corporation" and in DM it's across many systems and people talk about "the corporations". So think it would be easy to fit them in together.

I've seen parts of season 1. It's pretty silly and more like something you would see on Nik Kids but it's surprisingly watchable given the format. Merging humor and scifi is a difficult thing to do well but then I'm not a fan of something like Space Balls either.

It is really a cross between Community/Office Space and Red Dwarf. I enjoyed it..and I think the computer is hawt. ( looks a lot like an old gf of mine...weirdly their mannerisms are very similar too)
