They will. And she is.

She already said as much. Remember the scene where she was recounting a dream sequence of hurting some palace intruders by scooping their eye balls out? That wasn't 4's memory and it certainly isn't anyone else's memory sequence on that ship.

Haha, I like your confidence. I can't seem to remember that scene, I gotta dig up the earlier episodes.

It is curious that they stopped telling the stories of the dreams. Why haven't we (the audience) heard any dream stories about One and Three at all? Did the dreams stop after they did the 'inception' thing? Or maybe she was still dreaming, found out a lot more details about the others (and herself), and decided to keep it a secret?

It does look like the story is being told for us to think that the most likely person to have wiped their memories is One. What do you think? Could it be Five instead?

I'm really enjoying this time in syfy.

Although Defiance certainly had an awkward start, trying to parallel a video game with the show, this season has put forth some ingredients that round out its existence well. Improved character back story, tragic heroes, forced relationships, etc. There was such a void for this type of show, it could have been much worse and I still would of loved it.

The KillJoys' approach of sexy first is nice, but only to a point. It kind of gets away with many things that I think would doom a show. One being an over apocalyptic nature of population. It is often hard to accept that certain levels of technology would never reach the masses. Ehh you can't like SciFi without some level of forgiveness. So forget I said anything, it's all good to me.

Dark Matter I think has the most potential out of all of them. They have used more SciFi pieces than the others and continue to draw me in with the way they trickle out little tidbits of information. Even in the middle of the filler show where One and Three were tied to that chair hopping around like dorks, I was sure it jumped the shark. They ended up revealing a detail that kept both the growth between characters going while raising the level of anxiety. I don't mind a bit of campyness, in fact I prefer it. (LEXX, Farscape, Firefly anyone?) It just really almost hit a wall at that point. The way I see it now, they will continue to reveal something about each hero that will keep me coming back. I'm willing to believe that Five becomes the most complicated and pivotal member of the crew. Although the android is ready for her focus show. I've been wrong before and will continue to be wrong in the future.

Thanks Syfy.

I know this show is low budget, but I think I'm done with Dark Matter after the season finale. It's one long tease.

I hated this in BSG, I hated this in SGU, and I hate this here. The overarching plot of the show can't be a multi-season long mystery that would cause soap operas to blush. Your characters don't always have to get along, but gorramit, their interpersonal problems can't be the backbone of the show.

Episode 12 was everything about this show that is good. Episode 13 was everything about this show that is bad.

Edit: I'm coining it now: "BattleDark Galactica". From the people who brought you "Battlestargate Voyager 90210: The New Class"

Still hadn't looked at it I guess.

Been watching Mr Robot, among some older things I had never watched.

I think the short season was just not long enough for the story they are trying to tell.

Haha, I had the same feeling watching episode 12 then 13. Episode 13 was such a let down.

Yea the finale was rather boring as we have already had multiple such episodes of them running around not trusting one another.

I finally sat down and caught up. Some of the middle episodes made me keep watching. The finale definitely wasn't worth the effort. Way too much "who are you, I don't trust you" back and forth in this show.

Another good dominion ep. Have to wonder how the black stranger will end up becoming a major character.

So the sex scene with Gabriel, trying to make another savior?

Was interesting that the banished son appeared so much in those vision sequences, made a lot more sense when he popped back up in person.

So the general really wasn't a general. Good clip showing it, but now the question is if that are able to attract more lower angels to bodies still, why didn't they just take them on their own? And does the general really have (some) control left of his being?

DM:

First hour pretty good, get the feeling that will be a major plot line for season two. And we even get some bearded up Crusher!

Second hour gets some big WTFs. So was it the supposed traitor six they were talking about on the recording? Is this some deal he had previously worked out to clear his name?

While ep 13 wasnt particularly great for a finale, it was still decent. Just dont know when Six regained his memory enough to turn everyone in. Probably when he went after the General. I think after he killed the general clone someone came in and he was like "it doesnt matter if you kill me (cause I'm in a temp body)." Maybe that person was a double agent in the General's group and reminded him what he was supposed to be doing. Even in his flashback he seemed too moral to be in with renegades.

And it also explained why Five bonded with Six, cause he saved her life, and that feeling persisted through the wipe. What I'm wondering is if Six was the one who actually wiped everyone's memory to preserve his cover. He seemed to point Five in the "you did the wipe" direction a little too quickly.

Anyways, I hope it comes back. Even SG-1 needed a couple seasons to find its footing.

Yay! Still twice as many episodes as you get in the UK. (Although in the UK, the episodes are usually about 30% longer than in North America.)

Just fyi, there is a web site called when-will that will send you a periodic email listing which tv shows have been canceled or renewed. Last update had a shit load of anime and they don't list things by genre.

20 episodes or bust. Back in my day some seasons even had 22 episodes! *rabble* *rabble* *rabble*

10 = quality

20 = less quality. Ever hear of writer's block?

.....That's why Brit shows, like Sherlock (4 eps/season), have overall solid seasons due to their uber-SHORT, no filler seasons.

But we have to wait two years between each season *shakes fist*

Stargate managed it just fine for 15 seasons. Star Trek (in the modern era) for 25. Having more episodes lets you unspool a bit slower, and doesn't force every episode to be critical and impactful. You could never do something like the DS9 Dominion arc on 10 episode seasons, for example.

Riiiiight.

So, how in the heck did MASH, Taxi, Cheers, and on and on, all produced at 22-25 episodes per year (or more), manage to have very high quality writing while today's short ep. shows cannot seem to manage to match the quality of writing of the good older shows?

Writer's block my ass.

Writer's block my ass.

Those are outliers...anomalies.

For every single anamoly you present me, I can present you 500.

Even much loved outlier shows like Seinfeld got long in the tooth at the end. Seinfeld's final season was a progressively steeper cliff fall....all the way to the last episode. Abhorrent.

If Breaking Bad had 24 eps/season, it assuredly wouldn't be viewed anywhere near the same light.

Quality over quantity any day of the week.
