Her character seems a bit one-dimensional, too nicey-nice. What's her Achilles heel, something that makes her more relatable to the less perfect among us?

Am I the only one who can't stand Elizabeth Mitchell?

There's some kinda love/hate thing with her for me... haha I don't know. She does a lot of really quirky facial movements.

I typically like her as an actress. I've always thought it was something about her characters that I found myself not quite liking, but perhaps it's just something about her that remains common across her characters. It doesn't help that her character is kind of boring right now.

And I like the quirky facial movements! lol

He passed out in 10-15 seconds They got him out in 30 seconds. He didn’t suffer any injuries although he felt the saliva on his tongue boiling before he passed out.

Wow. If I am ever at the "saliva boiling on my tongue" point I absolutely know I'm done for and I ain't waking up. To then wake up and be told "Eh, all looks good buddy" would be an unimaginable shock.

No, no, you just use your latent Jedi powers and magically float back to the ship.

Nope, pointless role, you can remover her character and miss nothing, its nothing but fill. And why the fuck do they have religion in the future, Picard said we wouldn't!

He also promised we'd have a society that was equal in all matters, so the OPA wouldn't have had to exist. While I'm not sure what year this is supposed to be set in, I do know when you've poor desperate people, you'll find religion.

I think the Star Trek universe is likely to be delayed a few hundred years. I'm thinking The Expanse has the timeline down pretty well. It may be a bit behind. I think the only thing that could separate a Star Trek future from a future permanently stuck in the realities of today is a real period of alien interaction. Without that (like in The Expanse's world, which until their "now" in the 23rd century(?) has been entirely free of aliens), I think we're doomed to stick in our rut just with new flashier toys. We could develop into a better species without an external stimuli, but I think we absolutely need very pressing stimuli, like learning we're basically an inferior species in a rough neighborhood. We're gonna eventually get some fancy toys and spread out, but I don't think we're changing our entire culture until something 100% unprecedented comes along.

But there is no longer poor and desperate people on earth in the future! Picard said so as well!

I think religion will probably still be with us but yea could have trimmed it a bit in the last ep.

On the plus side got to see a pretty good peek at the some of the history behind the alien wormhole hub thing and where the protomolecule came from.

Well, now she's on the Roci, so we're gonna see a lot more of her.

Now maybe she'll do more than have that stupid look on her face.

I'm listing to the audio book during my commute and the series just caught up to where I'm at in the book but I'll be pushing ahead. Really are some good books even if your watching the series, with the exception of the religious nonsense.

Hopping on the Expanse train with you fellas. Just wrapped up seasons 1 & 2 and love it so far. I haven't read the books but maybe I'll try out the audiobook on my commutes. I was hoping to find out if Miller was coming back in some form, but maybe that's in s3? (Don't answer that haha) I'll have to start it up soon!

I'm doing that and I'm catching up to the last episode. Jefferson Mays who narrates the Audiobook series does an excellent job. Looking forward to the rest of the books.

Yes, he does! I'm up to date on the show but am just now getting into the books. Listening to his awesome narration on my commute and during lunch has been a real pleasure.

When is season 3 available to Prime members?

Probably not for a bit, considering the season is still airing.

If you mean a definitive time frame, I offer: around the time digital purchases and disc formats become available.
I can't help ya any further though.

TV Review -

"Top pick
The Expanse (Syfy, 9 p.m.): After a season that has been almost uniformly excellent—only two episodes in all of season three received a grade lower than an “A-” from reviewer Zack Handlen—The Expanse’s current story comes to a close tonight with a 90-minute, two-part finale. Will Holden stare pensively off into the distance at some point? Probably. Will it be great? All signs point to yes."

Just finished the third book omw home from work, perfect timing. Looking forward to see what happens on the show. Next season looks to be even awesomer () Was able DL the next book in the series, Cibola Burn, that takes off tomorrow on my way to work.

Doors and corners, Kid. Doors and corners.

The TV guide looks interesting. It's two episodes, airing 9:00-9:45, 9:45-10:32.

Is this about to be a double episode commercial-free super special? Because I'm about to geek out and give Syfy the viewership sendoff they deserve and will commit to watching it live tonight. So excited that I've kept caught-up this season because a commercial free double-feature is a great fan service. It's the least they should do in the case of this show. With such little fanfare it's almost like a little gift for the regular viewers who happen to catch it live anyway. "There's so few of you viewers, which is partly why we're dumping the show, so take our pity with this commercial-free experience."

I'm now going to be very let down when it doesn't happen. Dammit.

Lets all get together and sing "Kumbaya".

Actually not bad, they just wanted an end to it since it was getting cancelled IMHO. Id almost be satisfied with it as a series finale.

Now that it has been picked up its a good starting point.
