Actually not bad, they just wanted an end to it since it was getting cancelled IMHO. Id almost be satisfied with it as a series finale.

Now that it has been picked up its a good starting point.

I think that end may have been already mostly set in place before they found out about the show getting canceled. They may have done some more editing though.

Oh and so it was not commercial free. But you could say that was quite "limited commercial interruption" though - first half of last night had barely any breaks, first one about halfway in to part 1!

But I do think if that was two full episodes they trimmed it more than usual.

You could tell too, the pacing was ridiculous at times. Some of the decisions (or simple things left unsaid) could have definitely been done differently. It seems some reviewers caught on to that too, picking up the pacing/rushed plot points right away. That may not have even been entirely due to editing, the writers may have been trying to rush to reach a solid conclusion for the season and book stories up to this point.

Overall still a great episode, a fitting finale for both the season and the end of the Syfy production of the show. The overall story was excellent, and I think it did very good things for the series.

Really enjoyed the show. It wrapped up nicely for those of us who will not see it anymore. Ending with a start to a new "Stargate SG-1" type show.

eg Protomolecule in the Rocinante . In other people.

It's a thing in movies/tv/games when there is something wrong that lights flicker or flash, the monitors flicker/flash randomly. Why? why would a ceiling/s light flash? why not all of them, why in random why the monitors getting blurry why are they flashing? BTW everything electronic devices still are steady just the visual stuff. I know why they do it add tension but they overdid it and it was getting annoying, just my two pennies.

The pacing inside the gate is just insane compared to the books. They could have spent an entire season inside the gate. The cliff hanger for this season should have been the belter slingshot dude hitting the wall. So much skipped material.

the slingshot belter is the first chapter in book 3, there was not enough material left to make book 2 last this entire season
i agree they sped through a ton of the rd book but it makes sense to end this season at the end of the book, they prob could have cut some stuff early in the season to give them more of it for the 3rd book but thats about it

Yah, I know. Just that it would have been a good cliff hanger rather than end with ships just hanging out around the gate. Either way they skipped a bunch of material between IO and the gate opening and pretty much tried to fit a whole book into a couple episodes with what happened in the gate. It felt like about mid-season they were told the weren't getting renewed and struggled to make the points they wanted to for the series rather than keep on at the pacing that they had done so far. Ending this season at the end of book 3 made sense. Just felt like the started doing book 2 (mostly) went "oh shit" and tried to cram in book 3.

I thought they a did a pretty good job keeping up with the book. And now I'm about a 1/3 of the way into book 4, more names I have to remember lol. But it's very good so far.

Remember the ships took damage when they were stopped thus broken devices like that.

People wise as far as we know no one that had it was still alive.

The only kid was the one that transformed and was killed off during a fight with the martian marine I believe as the others were only getting basic tests before they were rescued I think although I am not 100% sure here.

I am not sure what marines you are talking about other then the one on ganymede that caused the fighting and if I recall that was the one they burned up with the engines.

True the missiles and the stuff inside the ship are still around as are whatever parts the un / mars has but that's a separate factor.

Watched up to 2:30 and determined that it was unwatchable, only explained the love story and that you can be an asshole.

Nice! thanks for posting the link. I really enjoy this show so when SyFy cancelled it I was super bummed. When I read that Amazon Studios picked it up to continue season 4 and maybe more? I was happy.
