They should just greenlight the whole production at this point, a season for each book. 9 8 novels exist right now which I think is the official end of the main story. They have some other stuff and one more novel in the works, and maybe another after that may be a collection of novellas, but I guess the actual story for the Roci crew wrapped up will wrap up in the 9th true novel. So let's make it 9 or 10 seasons depending upon whether they want to include any of the novella stories in the main show.

Yes I've heard each season has had material from other books and it isn't necessarily 1 book per season, that's an easy benchmark.

The Expanse season 4 released a day early. Already watched the first 2 episodes.

Just watched the first two last night - wonderful start, and we all know this is just the slow burn phase; all the critic reviews have stated that it feels like a whole new phase is starting and it ratchets up with time.

Spoiler: Two episodes in...

And it's already starting, that proto tech awakening cliffhanger and feels like shit is about to get nuts.

The Investigator kind of confuses me, maybe I'm forgetting something from Season 3, but it seems the protomolecule/tech just wants to find out what happened to its creators --- why is it so willingly to randomly harm anything related to mankind who couldn't have been what caused them harm? Or is that just its nature, to do whatever it wants to and humans are just unlucky enough to be both in the way and useful to its mission?

I'd originally planned to binge watch it this weekend, however, my pc upgrade didn't go quite as I'd planned and I've spent far more time with it taking away from other things. Maybe I'll watch the first one later or maybe tomorrow if I get a chance. Still too many things to do right now.

I love how a single fruit can be singled out and banned on public transport. I mean, I don't really love that, I don't like the idea of such a foul thing even existing. But I like how it is specifically banned outright all by itself. There's no signs for any other generally offensive thing that some people like, just specifically durian. lol

I binged it yesterday and today and it left me wanting for more. Too bad there were only 10 episodes in this season. Nevertheless, production quality was first rate so I'm pleased with Amazon.

The only complaint I have about this season is the lack of that one moment that came out of no where and was brilliant. Like the guy in season 3 that was ripped apart when his ship suddenly stopped. Other than that, I enjoyed it a lot. Much better than the last season, but I think that's in large part to having a proper villain types again.

I was disappointed that the entire season centered around a single planet and its events rather than allowing the crew to travel to different places and interact with different peoples. I did think that it was cool when Miller interacted with the doctor so now someone else can vouch for his existence.

Yah, the whole series kinda goes off the rails after they find the gates. Makes me a little sad that they kinda of fast forwarded to get there when they thought the series was ending. There is a ton more pre-gate material in some of the side story books too.

If you want more belter, Earth, Mars conflict the books head back that way. This is the only book/season that sees the Roci crew on a single planet.

I’m only half way through the season but I like what they added with Bobby’s story. Fills in some back story missing from the books and is good use of her character since she didn’t feature prominently in the book.

I’m only half way through the season but I like what they added with Bobby’s story. Fills in some back story missing from the books and is good use of her character since she didn’t feature prominently in the book.

This is basically Cibola Burn, Which was honestly the worst book in the series IMHO. I think the tone changes a lot post-gate though.
