I watched s6 e2 last night and it has a hurried feel to it just as I feared it would. I actually enjoyed the latest episode of Disco more that's sad.

I enjoyed episode #2 but I agree it felt like it just abruptly ended.... I think they screwed the pooch on wrapping up the story.

3 eps down, 3 to go.
is this season going to be only on Inaros?

Nothing about the aliens that destroyed the protomolecule creators? (and destroyed the rouge Mars Admiral's ship?)

altho the hinted upcoming fleet battle with combined Earth/Mars flagships vs Free Navy's new Protomolecule ships sounds epic!

I'm still on season 2 and I'm really enjoying it. I did read some of the books several years ago but I honestly remember none of it.

Not wanting to drop any spoilers to the unwatched I must ask this question. If one is shopping at the store for a particularly hard to find item and actually finds it would one purchase said item or pretend like they never saw it and move on to another store?

I don't know how the TV series ends up following the books (I couldn't bear watching beyond Season 2 of the show), but there are two entire books that essentially don't mention the creators or their destroyers and also don't add anything of significance to the "alien" story arc. So you may be waiting until that picks back up.

Apparently there is 25 minutes of bonus content you can only access via phones tablets and computers, but not the tv

sweet!
but i only see 1 vignette called One Ship.
do you see all 5?

And no captions?
when the belters talk, it's hard to understand their creole accent.

also, the author of the article said he's seen all 6 episodes of this final season?
HOW?

Sometimes the press gets sneak previews not available to mere mortals such as ourselves. I also read that article yesterday but haven't tried looking for them.

Edit: I'm using the prime app in W11 and I can see 3 of the bonus content under one ship in a scroll window. It appears that each episode contains one so as each new one is released we get the bonus content associated with it.

I was a little shaky with S6E1 but the season has really picked up pace. Its a shame that its only over 6 episodes and Amazon is doing stupid crap like hiding extra scenes in their X-Ray feature that really should have been a part of the show.

This season's pace feels much more like the peak of show in Season 3 with the plot firmly in the driver's seat, rather than the rather slow character development stuff we got in S4 and especially in S5.

- That girl is going to pet cemetery her brother, isn't she? And that's going to be the god damn cliffhanger the whole show will end on: her zombified brother, who is both himself and part protomolecule hybrid at the same time. There was clearly something wrong with that resurrected bird, and the fixed drone had blue protomolecule shit all over it. Alien dogs are clearly more intelligent/capable than they let on.

- I am really enjoying how ruthless Marco is and how quickly his veneer of "savior of the belt" disappears when its his ass on the line. Clearly he is using the belt to become the master of the ring gate. Looks like his gameplan is to build some massive rail guns and park them at medina station and basically pull off Sauvigtare's plan from the prior season to control the ringspace. Tingling in my nethers tells me we're going to get a brutal ringspace fleet battle at the end of this season.

-The Rocinante vs the Pella was absolutely fantastic. How has no other space show ever used actual physics and logical battle prep as part of the dramatic tension of a space battle? Everytime anything isn't tied down in the Rocinante and combat starts I get butterflies in my stomach. OF COURSE you'd want to depressurize and suite up before a battle, little bullet holes leaking air will cause issues with ship navigation, or kill the entire crew if a compartment is vented.

- The show is handling the absence of Alex quite well by dropping subtle hints but not dwelling on his absence (No one on this ship knows how to cook). Really enjoying some of the cameos we're getting from old favorites (Anna, Prax, That Martian Captain/Admiral, the Belter etc). Would have been nice to have them return in a more permanent way, but won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Pure fanservice.

- Love Amos' growth as a character. Starts off like a psychopathic puppy who attaches himself to whomever seems to have their shit together, and now he's started to figure out that NO ONE has their shit together, and he knows well enough to do what's right. Liked how he told Peaches she was free to wander the ship, don't let anyone give you shit. Like the inversion of the dynamic there too, where Peaches is clearly looking to Amos for guidance instead of the other way around.

- Drummer. Lets have her actually do something instead of mope all season! She's back to being the badass we expected, planning raids on Marco's deep space supply dumps. My money is on her selling those materials to the UN to stop the complete collapse of Ceres station, and in the process setting herself up to be the alternative to Marco Inaros for the belters to look to.

- Filip is an intensely dislikable character that you cannot help but feel sorry for. I suspect he's going to be instrumental in bringing his father down as he becomes more and more disillusioned with Marco's grandstanding and proclamations of saving the belt.

Its a short season, but there is really a lot to like and if it keeps up this pace every episode should be pretty solid. None of that GOT crap with a bunch of episodes revolving around the ultimately pointless Battle of Winterfell.

I restarted Prime to watch this and caved. I too like this season and am really sad there are only 3 episodes left. I did read there will likely be spinoff shows with some of the same actors so stay tuned.

While I find the bonus content interesting it in no way makes up for the loss of complete episodes.

Interesting that it seems like they're going to cram 2-3 books of narrative into 3 episodes? Or maybe the show just ends and the spin offs continue the narrative? Or they just abandon it entirely?

Maybe I'll give the show a second chance and binge it once s6 is done.

I never read the books but from interviews it sounds like this season ends with book 6 after which there is a 30 year skip after which book 7 starts

Oh wow, and this is the last season right? It sounds like the show has gotten rave reviews, is there a particular reason they're just deciding to call it quits without wrapping up? Or maybe, as someone above said, the goal is to explore the rest with spin offs?

Seems an odd place to just.. Stop.

Yeah I have read that this is the last season with only 6 episodes. Then they may do movies. I am disappointed with that decision, because a 2 hour movie will be like two episodes.

Not reading the thread because I only started watching this series a couple of days ago. I am on season 2, and this show is highly addictive. It has been a little predictable as to where things are going so far, but other than that, top notch stuff.

Never read the books so I can't comment on the series "vs" but as a stand-alone story I've been enjoying it.... seems like they may be trying to cram too much story into too little show for the last season though.

Yeah it's super rushed. Which is too bad because the books have (mostly) excellent pacing IMO. Now the shows have to go more a dues ex machina route like with Prax and the food discovery. They have to cram a several chapters of a book into one or two sentences with sometimes zero other context.

Still a very enjoyable show but too bad about the season length
