SyFy's Continuum...anyone watching?

Wow, that much of a lag vs. the Canadian airings? I wonder why. Perhaps SyFy didn't feel like it was worth spending the extra bux?

Anyhoo... on a theme permeating other threads... At this point - mid season for both Continuum and Defiance - I prefer Continuum. The writing in Defiance isn't very inspiring and seems to get more and more crappy as the season continues on. I was almost surprised Defiance was renewed. Continuum isn't exactly Shakespeare either, and could do with better writing, but at least it's not getting worse IMO.

This is not exactly a spoiler but Rachel Nichols looks a lot less hot in season 2. I definitely prefer her without the eye thingy but there is something about her hair. Its just very flat and unattractive. On some camera shots you can even see the dye job.

I guess she was just too hot as a blonde so they made her brunette so she would look more serious.

Well, I guess that's better than green.

The poll below is from tv.com. Its pretty shocking, imo.

It basically says 163 people are watching Continuum at the Canadian pace to 37 at the Syfy pace. Assuming at least some of the voters were actually Canadian that still leaves you with a staggering number of people who must have watched the show via illegal downloading versus those who watched it legally on Syfy. Wow. Just Wow.

They really need to explain where the kid got all his money in the first season as they were in the middle of nowhere on a farm and he has a barn full of monitors and high speed internet.

Though you're correct in that they seem to be playing down her looks. In just about anything else similarly recent she looks quite good. I have to assume they're doing it to give her that gruff cop edge.

The rest of the world has pretty much figured out that waiting for local broadcasters to pick up a show is archaic. Especially when you can legitimately buy most shows off of Canadian/American iTunes almost immediately after they air.

His father, apparently. They very briefly touch upon this in season one, noting he was a very accomplished inventor before he passed away.

The thing is they just talked about his research in season 1 from what I recall and that was it about his dad.

Even with the message his old self does leaves it out really.

Would Kiera stop them knowing that changing the future so greatly might meant her son was never born?

Hah. I just read that the US airings blank out the expletives in the show's dialogue. That must be pretty irritating.
