I hate people who use HID headlights. Do they like to look like a$$holes to everyone else?

First: It is not HID.

Second: I hate people with super bright head light too. Thats why I buy them!

OK, I'm confused. I only read the rebate form but it says they "look like HID". What is the difference?

Its halogen. It seems they coated it with some color so it looks white. Maybe I am wrong. I will try them out tomorrow.

Xtravisions or Phillips HiVisibility is the way to go if you truly want brighter lights. If you want to annoy people, then get the Silverstars

You guys, that isn't real HID. Those folks you see with riced out Honda Civics, etc. are using halogen bulbs with a blue coat on the outside of the bulb -- trying to imitate those who have real HID's.

For a "REAL" HID kit, shell out $500.

Yes, I think people got the point that these are not HIDs, and they also aren't any brighter than oem headlights. It's just a whiter light. The good thing about these are they don't try to look like fake HIDs by being blue. I hate the blue lights. Also, I've heard these burn out faster than your average oem headlights.

these arent blue. they arent the cheapo tinted bulbs that give off the blue tint, and give you terrible light output. these actually give off really good light output, much better than stock lights, and are whiter too. i bought a set over a year ago and am quite happy with them.

I love the HID headlights in the G35C. They aren't any brighter (going to blind someone) than regular halogen's, but they sure are whiter and illuminate the road so much better than regular halogens.

These lights mimic the HID's. The color temperature on them is closer to the HID's than regular halogens. There is nothing like a true HID light though and you will fork out at least $500 for them.

They have yet to burn out on me and I've been using em for about a year with at least every other night of evening driving so there getting pretty good use...

Every time I see a thread for this brand of lights I read it as "Silvia Saint....." and I think pr0n.

Sad, but true.

Anyway, looks like a deal.

Cheers

Great bulbs...I used to have the cheap generic brand that gave me the "Lifetime warrenty" where they replaced the bulbs when they blew given I paid shipping back. Let's just say the generic brand blew once every month. Sylvania is definetly a dependable brand. These SilverStars lit up brighter and more road. Actaully, I lit up half my block at night...hehe...I just hope I dont piss anyone off in front of me...but in the area I'm in...I should blend in with those busted honda civics with cheap blue tinted bulbs.

They're blue-coated, just like any of the other "super white" vanity bulbs out there. And the blue coating, of course, decreases light output. If you want brighter lights, go with the Sylvania XtraVision or Philips HiVisibility: both these bulbs are clear...no light-robbing coating on them. If you care more about having whiter light output, then you might as well get the SilverStars on sale than any of the other cheaply made but marked up bulbs out there. If your current bulbs are crap or are aging, then SilverStars would probably still be an improvement in light output.

I have the XtraVision bulbs in my car. They made a world of difference over the stock bulbs. They're definitely worth the money.

FAQ on 'blue' headlight bulbs:

linky

No attempt to threadcrap or pick a fight. If Silverstars work for you, then by all means purchase them. I just though some people might like to read it.
