I think my PSU maybe dying. It a thermaltake silent 480W unit.
My pc hangs in the middle of the night every now again, my USB mouse stops reponding every now and again, and once in a while the computer freezes, with no reponse so a reboot is required. Every blue moon a get a memory dump error, but no errors with memtest.
I have the latest updates/drives/bios for everything. Under device manager -all hardware is running properly.
Here is my system:
PSU - thermaltake 480Watts SilentX
Mobo - Gigabyte - P31-DS3L
Nvidia 6600GT
intel 930 dual core D @3Ghz
1Gb of OZ ram
Raptor
WD 250gb Sata II drive
LG Cd burner 4522
NEC DVD burner 3520
Soprano Case (no window)
XP PRO Sp3
What are the signs of a dying PSU, how can I test for it before buying a new one?
Thanks guys.
