Syncing PC media to Android

I'm looking for a program that will allow me to sync media(music and video) on my PC(Win10) to my android devices.

I would like something that could recode music files "on-the-fly" as I have a lot of stuff stored in FLAC;converting to MP3 would save a lot of space on the SD card. Also I want the ability to "stage" the sync job by selecting the files/folders I wish to sync and have the program tell me if I'll have enough space before files start copying. Otherwise what's the point as I could just drag and drop folders using explorer and hope for the best.


P.S I've been using MediaMonkey. I hate it. So there is no need to suggest it.

Is accessing the data from your home network and/or cell data not an option? Both plex and Emby have network and cloud-based options with on-the-fly transcoding.

Streaming or anything cloud base is not an option. The media must be stored locally.

The on-the-fly part makes this tougher since I've never looked into that for myself.

I use Google Play Music and tell it to keep certain albums and playlists on the device. I don't know how well GPM plays with FLACs, again, it's something I've never tried. I know that if it can match, it will give you an mp3 version, but I don't know if it can match FLAC or not.

As for video, any all-around player on the device would be fine. You really don't need a dedicated client on your PC, at least not in my opinion.

I use Solid Explorer and sync wirelessly via ftp. Faster than USB. Airdroid can also do this, as well as other file explorers. Or put the videos on Drive, and then tell Drive to download them to the phone, but that' obviously not direct and not my first recommendation by a long shot.

And if I'm at home I'll just watch the videos on my PC or on my 65" HDTV using the Western Digital TV Live I have looked up and mapped to my NAS(no middleman streaming server/software required.)

My tablet is for when I travel(which is quite often for my job and I lately I've been sent to 3rd world backwoods where EDGE and T1s are still first rate technologies. )

Maybe I should rephrase the question. Is there a iTunes like program for Android? I tried MediaMonkey, I don't like it. It's a PITA to get it to copy files correctly.

Check out MusicBee. Lots of options under the hood. Transcode on-the-fly, ReplayGain. Syncs well with Android.

I'm trying that one now. I might be doing something wrong but it seems to want to sync all the videos in my library to the tablet. I'll need to do more research on it. Hopefully it'll get the job done.

Yeah. IDK about videos with MusicBee. jRiver suite is supposed to have unrivaled Android support, but it's not free.
