I loved it and was really fascinated by it. I also didn't go into it expecting an action movie.
It seems a lot of people are missing the point of the movie (or what I saw the point as). It is not supposed to make sense. We are not supposed to understand everything, just like all of the characters in the movie (and the people who hold these jobs in real life) do not understand everything that happens. The people in the real world see the money come in, the oil go out, and nothing in between. They don't care to understand anything else. They got their money, and they moved on.
I don't see how this movie could have been simple. If it had been simplified, it would have been inaccurate and people would be bitching about that instead. And if people are saying a movie should get a message across or should have a clear story and purpose, that's like saying a painting should have a clear explanation for what is being portrayed and that there should not be any interpretation. I saw Syriana as a movie of style, not substance, and i always enjoy that more. The Usual Suspects was not about revealing the ending, but about the journey there.
It doesn't bother me if people don't like the movie, but people who saw this expecting a Vin Diesel action flick should have stayed home. This movie was trying to surround the viewer in global politics, money and power, not to explain it or document it.

I saw it with a friend from ATOT and we both thought it sucked hard cold donkey nutz. Talk about anti-climatic...
I will say, the George Clooney torture scene was pretty hot...
