OK, here is my tale of woe regarding my new system, specs below
AMD 3500+ winchester
Asus av8sli deluxe
1024 corsair ram
Bfg 6800gt OC
WD 80 gig 7200 HD
Had the system built from Monarch and it did not work out of the box..(system boot error,please insert system disc) So i called tech support and he told me to make sure the connections between the MB and HD were secure.
After re-seating the connector at the HD, windows booted up fine and everything was ok, two days later, same problem but i reseated both ends.
Everything was great for a couple weeks, then this morning i shut down and when i returned from work today and booted up my rig, System boot error again!!!
Well this time i figured i would just replace the cable, so i did and its working fine now, rebooted a couple times and it seems to be working.
Now, my question is, have i heard the last of this problem?
Was it actually the cable or do i have a faulty HD?
Ran norton disc doctor and it found no errors. Also, i do not have a floppy disc drive in my system, could this be the reason for this occasional error?
