System built, ready for drivers...

Well, I finally got all the goods in and put it all together. First boot was beautiful, everything hummed and whirled just like it should. That is, except the floppy to which the cable was upside down. That aside, I am now ready to load the OS (ME) onto the hard drive. Once that is complete I will be loading the drivers.

My question is does ME have all the drivers I need for the VIA and bus mastering ordo I still need to load the 4 in 1 drivers from the CD that came with the board? Is there anything on the CD I shouldn't load considering that I'm installing ME?

Fianlly, what is EZlogo?

Stay away from Windows ME....stay with 98 SE.

Even if it does detect the mobo drivers, it is best to use the latest ones. You can download them from the motherboard manufacturers site, or from via's site.

Well, I installed everything last night and it all went perfectly. Amazing what happens when you know what you are doing. ME is running perfect. Live! drivers loaded and detected the card fine. The GeforceMXII went in without a hitch and I was lanned up playing Quake 3 in a matter of a couple of hours! WOOHOO!

I am pretty sure that EZlogo is a utility that allows you to change the logo on the bios post screen(energy star logo, abit logo, dell logo, gateway logo) which is pretty cool! that they give you that!

I built on an MSI K7tPro2a. WD 30GB HD, 128MB generic PC133 mem, Asus CD, SBLIVE!, Hercules Geforce 2 MX, generic LAN card. Everything went in without a single hitch. Now mind you, the sound card and video drivers didn't load at all with the OS. The video showed generic PCI drivers and the SB was just showing conflicts. I installed VIA drivers. Then I installed the SB drivers, then the Vid drivers. Everyone went in by the book. Perfect loads!
