After turning on the computer, but before it starts to boot. The system will turn
itself off and the message above comes thru the speakers.
I'm not overclocking and have tried a bigger power supply, re seating the CPU.
Will boot and work forever once hitting F2 and running default settings.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Do I have a bad board or CPU?

Questions:
  • What brand is the power supply, is it a quality brand?
  • What voltage are you giving your memory modules?
  • What timings have you been using for your memory modules?

Try going into the bios hardware monitor, and see if you can find any settings to disable. On my old p4s533, it was at the top section of the page. The reason I had a problem was a cheap power supply that had a 12 volt rail reading of 11.5. I switched power supplies and the problem went away. But don't change power supplies due to this flaky feature of asus boards. When my system loaded windows, the problem went away, as asus probe loaded and detected a higher reading for the 12 volt rail.

I had the same problem with a p4C800 deluxe. go into the bios, and go to the overclocking part, its probably selected to 30% or something
but it back down to 10% or 0%

I forget which menu it is in though, but its really easy to find. This happened to my computer as well and its working b-e-a-yooootiful now

I've had this happen with 2 different p4c800-e's, a reseating of the cpu fixed it both times.

Thanks for the replies:

Power Supply was Antec 350 and it did this
Changed to Antec 430 True Power and it did it again today

Have already re seated the CPU

Memory timings and voltage...are set to default. I select F2 to set everything to default and it works
fine for a day or so and then bam! that damn little voice.....!

Checked the BIOS for overclocking is has not changed itself to anything other than standard
I'm not overclocking!

Guess I should have stayed with Gigabyte boards. What's the equivalent board to this one in the
Gigabyte line....I get fatigued trying to keep up with their complicated model numbers....
