System keeps shutting down, not sure why...

System:
P4 3.06 w/512 2x40gigs dvd/cd-rw

Motherboard: P4x400
Ram: pc2100 333mhz
HD's: WD40's
cd/dvd: artec wsm-52x
OS: WinXP home

I am having a few problems w/this system... still working out the kinks... hopefully someone can help.

Kink #1: the keyboard interrupts the system and freezes other programs when you type on it (when a cd is playing it will interrupt it, or when I'm burning something, or running video, etc). I tried switching to usb keyboard... no difference!!!

Kink #2: the system keeps rebooting on me without warning and for no reason, will just shut off and restart. I wonder if maybe I'm maxing out my ram and this is causing my system to crash. just updated the bios about a month ago and still the same problems.

Is there an issue with the p4x400 or am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure you are running your memory at 333Mhz? IF you are, that is most likely your problem, as PC2100 memory is for 266mhz, pc2700 is 333mhz, so you may be overclocking your ram. Also what power supply do you have? A generic or weak power supply can cause all kinds of problems. Could also have a heat issue, what are your temps at? I would also recomend running memtest to check your ram.

I assume that your keyboard is P/S2? Try getting a usb one. A P/S2 keyboard is one of the first things to get a interupt request. And a cheap one sometimes fouls up things.

Its seems it is apbm of virus TROJAN,Go to symantec.com download tools to remove trojan to do this just type shutdown -n at the run promt ur system will wont restart then u can run the tolls that u download from symantec.com.hope u got solution.

Shutdown -n huh? Is that so Windows doesn't throw up a prompt asking if you're a complete moron?

Shutdown -n works only with windows xp my dear,just try once u will come to a coclusion.
