Sytem stutters constantly in any graphics

I really need some help here, thatnks in advance.
My sig has my system components. This probelm has happened since I got the new MB, Video card, processor and RAM.
When I am in a graphics intense program my computer stutters on about 1 second intervals. Like in doom 3 the display will freeze momentarily and the sound will be like a broken record, repeating every one second or so then after a few repeats skip ahead to another sound bit and repeat. It does it constantly unlike some who had it just entering new rooms or in intense battles.
It does it in Team fortress Classis and even Windows media player when the sound animation is going.
The corsair memory I have has the activity LEDs and they flicker in time with the stutter.
I have run it with two sticks (dual channel) and one stick and it made no difference.
I have Win XP with sp2 as well as the updated NForce drivers and video card drivers.

Any thoughts as to what could cause this? I am at a loss.

I also tried running memory at 166 mhz, I messed with memory timings and agp bus speeds. Those made no difference. I turned AGP fast writes off, I read that helped some people. That also made no effect. I compared the stutter in windows media player to the windows analog clock....seems almost exactly one second intervals.

what background apps are you running it sounds like a driver conflict, motherboard monitor and some other progs will cause this to happen sometimes.

sweet rig btw

I closed out of all the nvidia MB and video card utilities I have. That didnt help. I noticed when I was in bios that the hardware monitors refreshed on about the same interval. I have the alarms disabled but I dont see a way to dissable all hardware monitors in the bios. Anyone know of a way to disable hardware monitors like fan and temp?

It will hopefully be a sweet rig if I can get this problem solved.

Try running the builtin benchmark in Doom 3. It runs with sound off, and if it doesn't stutter then you have a sound problem.

To do this, start Doom 3 and press "Ctrl + Alt + ~" to bring up the console, then type timedemo demo1.

Well it still stutters in the doom 3 demo without sound. I got 53 fps btw. This is a really confusing problem.
Ive found that the stuttering is happening even without any major graphics or sound. I can be in Wordpad and if I hold a key down it stutters as it repeats across the screen.

This is very odd.

According to the Nvidia drivers, is the 6800GT running @ AGP 4x or 8x? Is VSync on or off?

There are 2 BIOSes available for this mobo. Make sure you have the latest. If you already do, clear CMOS and set it to the Optimal defaults and see if that helps.

In the bios it is set to 8x. I have the f3 bios and have tried at the optimal settings. I am going to try switching back to my other video card and memory and see if that does anything.

I have read some people have turned off sideband addressing and this helped. What is that and where would I turn it off at?

Also you think my MB could be deffective?

Well I updated the bios to F4L, swapped out the video card and RAM to my old stuff and that didnt make a difference. I uninstalled all the nforce drivers so nothing on my motherboard even worked and it still was stuttering constantly. Im thinking it has to be a defective board unless anyone else can think of something to try?

Can I move the two SATA drives that are stripped on the nforce raid to the Silicone Image controller without losing the data? Its about the only thing I havent tried.

try to check your pci and agp bus latencies and see if there is a conflict there.
also try pulling 1 stick of ram and testing that way.
i had that problem but not as severe as yours sounds and a fresh install of xp fixed it.
that or you have a bad mb imo

I S**T you not it was my external zip drive hooked to the parrallel port. I went through dissableing stuff in the bios one by one and what do you know, i dissable the parallel port and no more stutter. So i unplugged the zip drive and left everything else and its all fine. Who would have thought...
