T-Bred motherboard compatibility

Anyone seen a list of boards that will support the T-Bred besides Anands extreemly limited one? Anand did only KT333 boards, will KT266A boards be included?

Well THG had this to say:

Simultaneous to the launch of the new Athlon with the T-bred core, AMD has given the following guideline to the motherboard makers: starting June 10, all motherboards must have integrated thermal protection in order to receive certification from AMD.

and

In the short term, a general improvement on the market is not in sight, because most of the manufacturers have long since introduced their KT-333 boards, and moreover, they don't expect to integrate thermal protection circuitry on their boards until a new chipset has been launched (e.g., VIA KT333A or KT400).

Which makes me question whether AMD will still warranty T-Breds if they are installed in a non AMD certified motherboard.

It's not looking very good, EPox just released a new bios for the 8kha+ and it dose not say anything about T-Bred support. Very odd, if this means a motherboard upgrade, T-Bred will flop more than it already has right?

i have an abit kr7a and i just went to update the bios and it says support for t-bred

Seems asus has T-Bred support with there 266-266a boards now as well, guess we'll just have to wait for the rest to come along.

Look at the bios released in april, it says something like "added support for coming processors". That must be t-bred right?

From what I've heard, the only difference between the Tbred and the XP is that one is .18 and the other is .13micron.
They both operate off of the 266fsb and have the same amount of cache so there should be no reason that the present mobos that we're using for XP processors shouldn't work. Ie. KT266a, KT333, etc. All you should have to do is update the bios.

It is likely that all that "support" is nothing more then just the mobo recognizing the proc in the beginning and correctly labeling it....I doubt any of those processors have thermal protection in place...Are we all sure that is somthing they can just add with a bios upgrade...Dont they need to make sure the are even reading the internal diode???

There is a rport of a guy burning his t-bred on a new asus mobo and thus no thermal protection there....
