In fact, it gives me the best reception out of all the cell companies in Staten Island, which is pretty much a dead zone with anyone else. As far as north of the city and north NJ, I've had no problems whatsoever. The only time I lost signal completely was up at Hunter mountain, I had a dead phone for the entire weekend.

OH, and I had a small problem with my signal inside my house, and when I complained to T-Mobile, they said they "increased the signal to my phone" which is pretty much crap, I'm guessing, but I'll be damned if it didn't get a full 5 bars, compared to the 2 I had before.

What part of Staten Island are you from? I live in the south shore, near the outerbridge and never got good reception in my house.

I have to also agree about T-Mobile's indoor reception. Most of the time signal is great, but indoors sucks. I'm sitting here in my office looking at my ONE bar on my phone, oh wait just looked again, now it's no bars "emergency only", and my building isn't even that big!. *Sigh* I was out of town this weekend in a major city seeing a concert in a small venue. I had no service in the venue, but I saw many people on their phones.

It would be nice if you could "test drive" a new service before switching, for like a week.

nice, i qualified!

i'm also in the DC metro area with t-mobile but i think it's great -- the phone plays a big part in the service tho; SE t68, t300, both have poor rf, nokia 3390 isn't that great either... i've used nokia 8890, samsung s105, SE t616, and siemens sl56 (SWEET phone), and they all have worked great... just wanted to say if you have t-mobile and don't like it, it might be the phone too.

but verizon is still a great choice for yall who are switching

They actually left me a voicemail letting me know that they had given me 50 free loyalty minutes...

Probably has nothing to do w/ the fact that my past 2 phone bills totaled over $400

But yeah, can't beat 50 free minutes for 6 months! (And I've only been a member since Dec. '02)

-Ben-

Edit: And I get awesome service with them pretty much everywhere I go (Indoor and Outdoor), except in the dead zones, but nobody gets service there!

Does Tmobile have free roaming?

I've been with VS a while, I think since '99 or so and they gave me free nationwide roaming and long distance on top of my plan a while ago. They claimed it was because I was with them a while but I wonder if they just do this for everyone.

Call them, quite often providers are willing to work with you the first time it happens.

Any provider I can think of has a 2 week trial period during which you can cancel no penalty.
