Here's a summary of the deal:
T-Mobile G1 for $139.99 (cheaper than at the store)
Free BT Headset
Free Companion Flight (Not too bad. Over 100 destinations to choose from. You can book all of your flights online. They use real carriers - not Joe's Airline. It wouldn't make me jump to go to T-Mobile, but if you were getting a new phone anyway, a free flight is a nice bonus www.flywitht-mobile.com)
[B]Waived Activation Fee ($35)
Free Shipping[/b] (2-day)
Here's how to get it:
Call 1-866-464-8662 (select option 3)
Use the promo code: 8291TMOFAV
for the HTC Developer Promo
[that's the trick - you don't have to be an employee of a certain place to get the deal - you just need to know the code. There's no verification or possibility of them coming back to you later if they do an audit]
It appears that you can get a discount on all T-Mobile devices using this code (even though it says "HTC"), but the G1 is the way I went. 3G on this one is faster than my friend's AT&T iPhone. Could just be the area I'm in (or the fact that not many people are actually on TMO's 3G network yet), but it definitely loaded pages faster.
also found these deals with the same code:
- Free SE TM506 (works in Japan)
- $49.99 for Motorola ZINE (5 MP Camera phone)
- $99 for Samsung Behold
- $49 for T-Mobile Sidekick
- Free BlackBerry Curve
