I've been debating switching to them, I'm a little worried about coverage since I travel a lot and I've heard it can be sketchy at times, especially in buildings. I had a similar problem with AT&T back in the day and wouldn't want to go back to that as it was incredibly frustrating.

Tmo is much better than att with penetration. Unless I am really in the boonies I never have issues. I always carry around a VZW phone from work and in the tri-state area tmo has worked much better for me than even VZW.

Breaking news: Customers like a carrier that doesn't try to screw them. Details at 10.

Switched earlier this year from Verizon and have had no regrets. The family plan pricing is unbeatable.

Just switched a couple days ago from sprint, the pricing and the international plan is really great.

I had my doubts when T-mobile decided to get rid of contracts but I'm amazed that its so damm successful.
Shit, a family plan of 5 for $110-15%+tax= untouchable.
500mb is plenty for me as I have Wifi at work and home.
Only time I really use data is for the GPS and even that its still unlimited(just throttled).
I've been telling everyone I know of to switch.

How are you getting 15% off?

I switched from AT&T to tmo. Coverage isn't as good but for the price and and my needs, it is a better fit.

Will be switching from Verizon when my N5 gets here. Coming from the GNex with horrible reception so things can only get better. I barely ever call people so I'm going to try the $30 100 minutes/unlimited data plan.

I decided to make the switch from VZW to TMO. I don't regret it the slightest.
Maybe if I lived in the sticks I would still prefer VZW, simply for coverage.

But VZW isn't getting any less douchier at the moment.

They are great because you get both mvno style discounts if you choose not to buy phones from them while retaining the major carrier family plan discounts at the same time so the long term savings is awesome.

How is it possible T-Mobile is better than AT&T with penetration given that they use AWS while AT&T uses 700 mhz for LTE? Lower frequencies penetrate better, and back in CA when T-Mobile had 1900 only, you'd lose reception in buildings easily. AT&T's 850 helped out a lot.

I tried giving Tmobile a chance last month. I could not get ANY signal in my workplace. I spend 10-12 hours a day at work & no signal is a gamebreaker. Plus, the wifi at work is really shite, so I don't even have that going for me. I really wanted to leave Verizon, too.
Sad, I get 3 bars lte inside my work on Verizon.

I made the switch and the only places that I don't get reception we'll are old buildings such as in any night clubs on Hollywood. Guess it saves me from drunk texting lol.

A lot of corporation gives you 15% off.

yeah there are a lot of places that give 15% . i used my college email address in their thing and its giving me 15% off (i've been out of college for 10 years oh well).

i think you even get 12% if you are a member of AAA.

if you dont want to deal with it, just sign up through metropcs which t-mobile owns. same coverage and its $10 less per plan (though no discounts apply)

i 've been on and off t-mobile. was on them from 2004 to 2010 or so. then switched to verizon since t-mobiles coverage was not very good where i was living at the time. then switched back about a month ago (and moved to a good t-mobile city... los angeles) and happy again.
