Where is it on clearance? I stopped by a Staples on the way home and the price in the system there was $99.

I stopped at a Walgreens and noticed they still have it selling for $79 with no mention of rebates. I thought it was the mid-level phone at first. The box still described Gold being after $250 rather than $100 as well.
AFAIK, the promotion at Staples is over. You can still get the rebate if you buy it at another store though -- see http://www.tmobilerebates.com/PDFs/5026-19-775-5.pdf

ok here is a question for this. Im very interested in this deal. I was just browsing the t-mobile website and saw the 4 phones on the site. For me personally the Siemens CF62T will suit me. But out of curiosity, is their any other phones out there that will work with the prepay service? Say, like the 730 from motorola? or any along those lines? Thanks.
You can use any T-mobile compatible phone with the prepaid service. If you missed the deal at Staples, you might want to look around a bit before buying directly from T-mobile. Online auctions and shopping channels have better prices. From what I've heard, that Siemens model is not that good a phone but if you want one, HSN is selling them. FWIW, the Samsung is a much better buy and there is a $40 rebate available for that one.

The Samsung rebate is from SimplyWireless. Anyone have any experience with them?

I bought one last year from SimplyWireless (Home Shopping Network), a ATT go phone for $5. Phone came already activated. Rebate came fast, about 3-4 weeks. however, it requires a vaild phone account to receive rebate. It is not a bad idea buying phone from Home Shopping Network, you have 30 days to return, instead of usual 2 weeks.

If you are new customer for HSN, there are $15 coupons floating around (need to purchase $20 worth) - Makes the Samsung a pretty good deal..

Yep, basically takes care of the tax/shipping. Then the $40 rebate brings the total down to around $40ish.
I found the coupon and I'm seriously considering trying this.

i just called T-moblie To Go and found that you only get 1000 minutes if you are a gold member and add another $100 card to your account. So, the lowest you can ever get your minutes for, gold member or otherwise, is $0.10 a minute. Basically the first $100 takes you to a gold member automatically, so that the amount of minutes you get after you are a gold member is NOT more than 1000 for $100.

kind of a bummer though--i was really looking forward to getting 2000min for $100 w/a 1yr expiration since i was already a T-Mobile To GO Gold member.

ok, from what i know, no doubling minutes. When you get to $100, you will get the gold reward minutes, which is the same everywhere in united states.

if you live in michigan, or you want a michigan area code, you can get 165 minutes and good for 90 days (instead of 50-60 minutes w/ 60days.)

you can any t-mobile authorized dealer and have them activate it for you. don't call t-mobile and activated the phone over the phone or internet. the store i went to activate my was 3g mobile, 248-588-1354.

anyway, from my calculation, $20 for the phone, $100 for the card ~ $120 get you 1165 minutes that good for 1 yr and 3 mos. that pretty good deal to me, plus i think you can use your phone to call international at a higher rate.

Does anyone know if the Pre-Paid deal is on t-mobiles regular network? When I tried to switch from monthly to prepaid I got transferred around like 5 times until someone knew what they were doing. The Prepaid area is completely different from the regular area, and now that my phone has been switched over it's been emergency only since the switch yesterday even though I'm in a high rise in the middle of downtown l.a.

I just hope it stays on t-mobiles regular network and not some crappy prepaid network.

$20 or less sounds like a good deal on the pohone alone.

I have a normal, monthly plan(3000min/49.90 regional), but I am having trouble with my phone, which they replaced once, but now the replacement is also acting up....
Can I transfer my monthly SIM into that phone and just use it on a monthly basis, rather than prepaid?

Well the original deal is dead, but yeah, with t-mobile you can swap SIM cards and thats all you need to do, don't even have to call T-Mobile up to transfer to the other phone or anything.

You can use any T-Mobile phone on any plan. The $20 phone deal is over but you can get the Nokia 6010 from Target for $40 with no rebates. You can also get new phones from Lost My Phone.com or buy a T-mobile compatible phone on eBay.

You do not go through either the T-Mobile store or web site for the best deal. You can get the Nokia 6010 for $40 at Target right now or buy a phone and prepaid SIM on eBay.

You don't need a special sim card for prepaid service. Any phone will work with or without sim card you just need to call them and ask you to change you to prepaid.

It was a few months ago, it may have changed now. We tried to get a T-mobile pre-paid, we could not get a local number, closest number was 50 miles away (long distance call); but if we signed a monthly contract, local number was available. The sales boy also said, pre-paid is not as good as contract. It was odd.

Yep. The law says your existing cell phone number can be transferred (ported) to a new cell phone with any provider. I did one last week from Sprint PCS to STi prepaid and it took about 4 hours overall and the STi guy had to call me twice, but once Sprint released my number, it went smoothly.

Just make sure you transfer the old number to the new phone before you cancel the old cell phone contract.
