T2 Ultimate @ Best Buy for $4.99

But, my local store(Springfield,PA) never got any so they are offering the ultimate edition or that price.

Okay, I don't think this is really a repost, because this guy is claiming he got the "T2 Ultimate Edition" (with the aluminum casing)" for the price of the "Widescreen Edition" of T2. Very different. And at my Best Buy (Westwood, CA) they had about 3 T2's left, the Ultimate Edition were not on sale for 4.99.

This is not the same as the one in the circular.
This was substituted b/c they did not have the other edition.

In BB ad, it shows $4.99 for the regular edition. Underneath of it, it mentions "Offer not valid on T2 Ultimate Edition. Minimum 100 per store. No rain check."

I talked to the managers in two different stores and they told me the same story. All BB either received defectived DVD shipment or NFR promotion edition. Some of them don't even receive any shipment. Store manager has to make up their mind to keep this sales alive.

Framingham in Massachusette offer customers UE instead for $4.99. No limitation. Worcester in Massachusette only offer rain checks for the first 100 customers. Funny thing is they do number their rain checks up to 100.

They were all out at our local BB, buy the sales guy said they would get more in and said that if they sale out again that I could get a rain check. This is a great deal if I can find it in stock.

The only way you'll know it's the ultimate from the receipt is the sku number.

That is $6.98 plus shipping still a good price? yeah probably, but we spend a lot of effort to get a product down to it's lowest amount, and yell it to the world how to save a few pennys.
Why give Best Buy "extra dealer profit" on orders you can't pick up at the store!

If you look closely, their order charge is in line with other e-tailer's base shipping charges. Go check out Amazon.com's shipping rates sometime. What BestBuy.com is charging is completely reasonable.

I've already got this dvd (Ultimate Edition), but I was at Best Buy anyhow looking around today ... on the door is a big sign notifying everyone that they were NOT substituting UE for the cheapo one, in addition to the fact that they didn't have any of the cheap one. I guess they're doing this on a store-by-store basis

Like the original poster, I live in PA. I called about 5 stores including the Springfield store he got it at only to be told that they were sold out of all versions of T2. Yesterday I stopped in to a Best Buy 60 miles away while traveling on business, no luck. All versions of sold out there. Just for the hell of it I dropped in on my local Best Buy today to find one copy of T2 Ultimate Edition. There were none of the other edition. As has been mentioned, BB received promotional versions that had to be recalled. After telling them that the Springfield store was substituting and talking to about 5 customer service people, they finally got tired and let it go for $4.99. Sometimes being courteous but persistent pays off.

As to whether or not the sub UE, it's all up to the manager and keeping the customer happy. If you live by a store that is fairly profitable, they will be more willing to lose $10 to keep the customer happy. If your store is a sh!tty store jst squeeking by, forget about it. $10 might be the difference between the GM keeping his job or working at walmart.

At that point about eight blue uniformed Best Buy CSRs formed a wall in front of me. I tried to race down the appliances aisle but they cut me off. I struggled and wrestled my way to the checkout but, just as I reached up to place the DVD on the counter, I got an indian burn on my hand and my copy of T2 was snatched away.

The Best Buy near me was not substituting the Ultimate Edition but the one down the road was. Of course they were both out of the cheap one. And the store that was subsituting was out of UE as well so I bought UE at the one near me, returned it to the one down the road asked the girl to give it back to me after she took off the little sticker they put on when you return something, took it back to the video dept. the guy was surprised that I found one (on Wednesday) but he sold it to me for 4.99. I also had a $5 coupon so I was out the door for TWENTY-ONE CENTS!!!
