TA: "2nd Place" not good enough! "MegaFlush" cometh and saveth the day :)

We're more slowly than ever gaining on first place of the RC5-64 contest! Our recent success has slipped and we're slowly dropping our pace. Sure the MACs won't overtake us, but there are several powerful teams working up to our pace. Don't forget, the winning person gets $1000! The winning team gets to donate a boatload of money to a charity, too.

The client on my machine runs off the startup; most people set it to go off on a screen saver. Putting it on the startup allows it to run 24/7 nonstop. When I game it goes into a sleep mode so I don't notice it even being active. When I web browse it runs at almost 100%; figure web browsing takes very little cpu power.

I only joined three weeks ago and have processed 25,768 blocks in that time. The real killer is I didn't lift a finger! to do anything. Its all a process that runs in the background and doesn't slow your system down at all.

Hey all! I got all my machines running it. I even have my piddly Linux router (P200mmx) doing it 24/7!

I'm trying out my dual Celeron 600 with the BeOS client now.. I heard that it is quite a bit faster. I'm actually using Opera in BeOS right now to type this! Not to shabby, and neither was the 15 min TOTAL install time before I got onto the net..

Anyway, I wanted to let you guys know that we may have one of the worlds FASTEST computers cracking some blocks for us this weekend.

My brother works for the DOE (Department of Energy) and he wants to see how fast their brand-spankin-new SGI Origin 2000 computer will run... (64 250mhz R12K cpus w/ 8mb cache) WOWZERS!

DAMN. Too bad we can't run it on that puppy 24/7!!!!
So we are going to run RC5 too see just how many packets it can do in 10-15 min... I can't even imagine!
