Sorry to see you guys about to knocked down a position in the team rankings I remember a time when other TA teams would switch projects to lend a hand to a team in need.

Keep at it, ya'll are still doing good!

Is TA ECCp in trouble?

I was thinking about exploring another project anyway?

I am willing to switch a machine over to see what its like, where can I get some info and how much help is needed?

thanks for stopping by randy48

It isn't everyday that the ECCp-109 world stats leader posts on this forum.

We're trying to recruit more ppl to join up in ECCp-109 but it's very dificult to keep up with the Digital_Design_Lab...

If it wasn't for him we could put Ars Technica at bay until the end of the project...

I'm coming XL!

I remembered how people from other projects helped out our SETI team in our last race.

I am changing over my fastest cruncher (Athlon XP 1700+) to ECCp to try and say thanks!

I'm not the stats leader any more that's Evil Roy Slade I posted with hopes that some of the other TA teams would read it out of curiousity and jump in and lead you guys a hand! It looks like it did draw someones interest WTG Migroo

HELP!!

Which client should I download?

I want to run the statsaholic version as suggested in the TA FAQ, but it states I need a normal client first to upgrade from.

I am running an Athlon XP. Which client should I download?

Client List

I need an answer before I can start crunching!

Thanks guys. I've got to shoot out now.

I'll get it running once I get back, and I'll leave it running overnight (a first for me!)

Much appreciated.

what sucks is we had about 25 more active members, then SETI started another friggen race and we lost them, then the race ended, and nobody came back, and now we are just a crappy loser team, with crappy loser output, and a crappy loser forum with 85k of 99% useless people.

The Seti Race's have really made it hard to keep people doing ECCP.
I can't understand why, to make any difference on the Seti Team you need
a huge amount of computing power. With the ECCP team even with just a few
systems you can be in the teams top 20 and the top 100 in the world.

Also you don't have to deal with all the Berkley outages and crap.

gogeeta13, your post doesn't encourage "Team Spirit". Let's all be more friendly than that.

Searching, You are wrong about little people not counting in SETI, or any TeAm DC Project for that matter. The big bangers only offset the big bangers on the other teams. The difference is our "little" guys are really awesome and count like 3 or 4 of the members on the other teams.

Oh before I forget, I started running ECCp early this morning. Still working on the first WU? or whatever it's called.

did i come off as bitter? good

i am bitter.

after the first SETI race, i was dissapointed with those who moved to seti, when they didnt come back, then more left for the second race and i watched us fall from 2nd, to 3rd, to 4th, and soon 5th. SETI races is BS, we have been racing to even stay in the top 3 for the last 4 months, yet we have only lost support. SETI is a project that not only absorbs more system resources then any other DC, but is also endless. We wont be finding any aliens any time soon, and if we did, we wont have the technology to reach anything lightyears away for at least a few centurys.

ECCp may end within the year, and if we had even 25% of the members on seti on eccp, we could move up very quickly. my athlonxp 1400 does around 200dp a day, if we had 10 more people with that much output, we could slowly be back in business.

edit: oh yeah, if there was any team spirit, when i needed parts for a crackrack, i shouldnt have heard, "sure you can have it if you switch to seti"

that is self centered BS, and despite the fact that i am against seti 300%, i would never descriminate someone like that.

ugh, i am already in a bad mood, this is why i dont come in here anymore, so much bs

That's a DP your working on Smoke.

Way to hustle everyone. When you think of TAem, think TA. All together as one. The way it's supposed to be.

We really need all the help we can get...

Smokeball, welcome to the ECCp-109 project

The first Distiguished Point is the worse one to discover it can take up to a Billion interactions before you score one.

The average time for clocking a DP in a PII 400 is 52 minutes so it won't be long...

Is anyone working on optimizing the dual client for Win32?

I've tried running two seperate instances in seperate directories with no luck on several tries..........the dual cli is pretty slow and really isn't worth the effort......just MHO

As soon as I have we||cky over the million mark in RC5 I'll be giving you all I've got till the project is done, most likely

OK,

The latest assembler optimizations are written in AT&T style. The Windows SMP client needs Intel style assembler. No one has made the conversion as far as I know.

As far as running two clients, what have you tried? You cannot run two GUI clients because they check to see if another GUI client is already running. You should be able to run a GUI/CLI or two CLI clients. If you need some more info on this, let me know.

Well, Ars got us. I could have held them off for another six hours, but what's the point?
