Just a quick question

How many 'Total points computed' add up to a DP?

I saw somewhere ConfusedBW mention that it was something like 540,000,000

Yet, I have done 856,000,000 and still no DP. I'm sure that DP sizes change, but this much??

Just need some info.

Edit: Now I have done 1844,xxx,xxx and still no DP. Am I doing something wrong??

540,000,000 is not a bad number for a long time average. The process is non-deterministic, so the number of points per DP will vary. It
is not uncommon for 1+ billion points for a DP.

Be patient grasshopper, they will come.

Thanks MereMortal.

Patience??!! I just started a new DC project and you ask for patience!!! :Q

Yeah looks like I'll have to wait it out. I just wanted to complete a DP so I could join the TeAm...

Excellent :Q

That sounds so much better than 6 SETI WUs per day

Edit: Oh, thanks

we need to do two things.

1) Keep bumping the ECCP stats and congradulating members on their achievements. As long as the stats are near the top of the forum, we
are getting noticed.

2) Our TeAm ECCP website is actually really nice. Unfortunately I didn't
realize that until after I joined the project and would have appreciated easier accessibility to the client download info like Migroo was asking. Maybe we could get the ECCP portion of the DC Welcome thread to have two more lines to reflect pandaflux's two links.

other than that.... group hug?
Hopefully a few more members will jump onboard and we'll fight our way back up top.

Has anyone tried the latest client for ECCp-109? it's the one named eccp109-131g.exe (it's dated 3/8/02).. I'm still using the older client.. eccp109-130-2g.exe (dated 11/25/01).. is there really any notable differences between the two? According to Chris, it just includes a small bugfix.. I'd just like to know what experiences people have with this new one..

if it's all positive, I may as well switch to the new one

Shame that there are no optimized clients for smp machines. I have personally 3 SMP boxes and the stock eccp performance on them just sucks compared to the statsaholic one.

HI all, I installed the client this morning and just registered to join the TeAm .

When are the stats updated!

It's only a k6-2 300 with 192 pc-100 ram. i already have 4 DPs and it's set up to transmit=1, is this ok,?

postman,

Most people with SMP systems run two optimized clients. You can run them as services using FireDaemon.

paf077,

Welcome. The stat updates are run at 0:00, 6:00, 12:00, 18:00 EST. It take about 20 minutes to run the stats now, so updates appear on the ND website about 20 minutes after those times.

If you have a permanent connection, then that option should be set to 1.

I don't see that transmit=1 anywhere (i use the eccp109-130-2g.exe version.. GUI-tray) .. which client are you using?
Sounds like it should be fine the way it is..

MereMortal posts the team stats everyday around 9am PST or so..
On the ECCp-109 website (maintained by Chris Monico), the stats update at 6am, 12pm, 6pm, 12am EST.

Oh, and welcome to TA ECCp!

<edit>Darn, MereMortal beat me to it.. I'm just too slow.. </edit>

paf077,

since you're on a permanent internet connection, that should be fine the way it is.

Just remember each client needs its own directory otherwise they'll be generating duplicates.

I joined TA ECCp last week or so... Got an Athlon 800 @ 950 running it. Its also running SETI, so the outputs for both are diminished. I may end up switching this one over to only ECCp, seeing as how I have a 1.3 Athlon dedicated just to SETI.

BTW, does clock speed, FSB or memory speed affect ECCp the most? I had this comp at 945 (105 x 9) for SETI, because a higher FSB made more of a difference than a high clock speed. Whats better for ECCp?

Since no one answered yet here's my pick...

I guess that the higher the clock frequency the higher the number of Interactions per second the computer will do.

So I guess that it influencies your output SWScorch.
