Thanks, Chipster22, glad I could lend a hand (IBM A20 PIII500 laptop w/256meg of ram).

hmm...networkman, I was able to d/l the eOn program just a few days ago. Didn't know that it was closed to "new investors". Was looking for a dc project I could throw my Laptop at since Seti Classic has been taken off the ventilator. I did'nt want to "Boinc" so I looked around and found F@H for my 2 main boxes and eOn, for the little one. Doesn't seem to demand much and am quite happy I jumped aboard. :thumbsup:

Almost switched over my 2.4ghz box because it was choking the server at F@H - it was trying to get another work unit but the log list 18 attemps to contact that Commadore 20 "server" for a period of over 5 days! Tried installing twice the command line program with no sucess. Finally d/l their graphical program and that seems to be working - except that after it finished it's wu, it closed down! The reason why I am pissed is that I only have One Monitor - A NEC 15" LCD Multisync - and I have the main 3.06ghz pc tower connected to it. Occationally, I connect the 2.4ghz box to the monitor to see whats doing (I only use this box for dc work). I could just scream!!! :|

Or go the free route and use UltraVNC as a software KVM; I do this with many of my own fleet at home.

Thanks networkman & Malak for your post! Much appreciated. Networkman, I will try your suggesting - looks promising.

$80 sawbucks for a 21" CRT, Malak? WOW...unfortunatly, money is kind of tight right now. My wife was diagnost with breast cancer in March of this year and also broke both bones in her left leg near the attachment of her ankle (that was in september). I also had a very sick cat (we have no children - except for the cats) who had several visits to the vet hospital - finally had to put him to sleep last week and put him in a pet cemetary where are other cat's remains are interred. So the ancillarary medical bills have hit us really hard this year (Yes, we have medical insurance at work, but...$25 co/pay per visits...2 hospital stays with a $500 co/pay and assorted parking bills, extra gasoline usage-at today's prices! - misc. items not covered by insurance - and of course...her dental bills - 2 root canals, crown & posts & more work to be done. I will probably be able to get/upgrade my pc stuff by the year 2100.

Just hitting a bump in the road of life.
