Sorry about the occasional ping rate problems ,2 users at 2 different times tried to connect & were downloading OLweapons from me ,hence the ping went up.Hopefully that won't happen so much now I have it hosted on my website

I'd love to get fragged by Pussycat, but unfortunately, my IBM 7200RPM 20G took a nosedive, and I'm slowly getting the Maxtor 7200RPM 30G HD replacement loaded with everything, and games are the last item on the list.

I really want to try it out, as I think a major part of my lag and ping problems have been due to a flakey network cable. I was getting very poor 'Net and download performance until I rewired the cable (It runs from my PC down to the Linksys router in the basement). I was getting at most 25kbps download prior to the rewire, now I'm getting 100 to 200kbps downloads from fast servers, and web pages load almost instantly.

Hopefully, tomorrow I'll have everything back in order.

Was fun Assim1, but some bad ping spikes. Dunno, whose end it was. I got 512k/256k ADSL (UK).

Quite close running, should practice a bit I think for another time, got majorly sidetracked with the UT2K3, and SOF2 demo's, plus also my new favourite game, Grand Prix 4.

I tried connecting around 10.30, but I think your server was down..

Either that or you saw me trying to connect, and in a fit of fear and panic disconnected your network connection..

Wierd ,server was up until about midnight ,I think the max connections had been reached.

There was me,pussycat,vss1980 & Iatasha (whoever that is) ,atm my server is publicly advertised because its not often more than 1 TA person joins,I could unadvertise it though if its getting slightly popular.
Also don't forget I am the admin for the server so I can kick people out if need be (now that I know how to do it!)
I check back to this thread from time to time if the server isn't full.
*sigh* I wish I had a higher upload speed

I put in in my favourites list UT. I think it said ping 9999 and I'm sure I tried to connect. If it was full it would have said "rejected by server" but it just hung there......

What spec machine are you serving it on?
UT server isn't all that hungry, but likes a little bit of overhead sometimes. Trouble-free games can be hosted on the lowest of the P2's (with sufficient memory of course).

Its running on my main rig(listed in my sig under 'my fleet') as a listening server (hence 0 ping for pussycat last night),so there's plenty of RAM & CPU power ,aside from my random rebooting problem (see my other thread) ,which didn't happen last nite ,UT is now pretty stable on here ,don't know why it BSOD.

You can go to Open Location and enter a domain name, right? Isn't that what TGB.net does?

If I ran a server you could go to unreal://bingo31.hopto.org:7777 and that should work,

I might give it a go, only 128k upstream thoough..
