As reported http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,1420908;root=seti;mode=flat, it would seem that someone is e-mailing this guy about installs of SETI on PC's. I would hope that permission was granted, but that's not the issue. We can't prove or disprove any wrong doing on his part....I would hope that BOTH teams use the honor system in working toward the 100,000 WU finish line.

I hope that everyone is working on the RACE on the up and up! If anyone (their team or ours) is installing without permission, then it should be stopped. We've seen this several times throughout the other DC projects, and the TeAm Anandtech stance as a whole doesn't condone it. Again, not saying anybody is doing anything

Regardless, please don't send e-mails on the subject. This only sets off flames when not needed.

Thanks and enjoy the RACE...we may be down...but I still enjoy it ..and by no means is it over yet!

aiex, A DSL member said he was granted permission to install SETI on 50 PC's...but this was posted in a thread about a STEALTH CLIENT...sorry, don't know all the details...anyway, it turned into a permission thread. He posted a message stating that several TA members were e-mailing him and causing harassment (Not accusing anyone, I didn't see the e-mails....nor do I really want to as I would rather concentrate on other items now..but I do hope that everyone will be most courteous to our RACING parters at DSLR)...

Just thought it would be easier to post this than to have a stampede of e-mails and flames.

Looks like you're doing a good job putting out some fires, Engineer. Things are getting a little more heated than I would like to see as well. The moderators at DSLR have removed a couple of threads today because they were heading down the wrong path. Accusations instead of suggestions or helpful information. Not pointing fingers at your people or the ones at DSLR. Right now, its a moot issue and we'll move on.

I'm sure both teams are enjoying the race...even though our bank accounts may not

The entire thread was locked away to prevent a flame war from breaking out. I am glad that Engineer addressed this issue here and I did not have to. Please do not send e-mails to DSLR members unless you have a personal relationship with them, they have requested that you contact them, or you are answering a question they posed that cannot reasonably be answered in a forum post.

This was very upsetting to the member and raised some unnecessary ire in our Forum. Remember, we want to be friends long after our "competition" is over.

I would like to also thank Engineer for his take on this and decision to address it head-on. I found it rather unpalletable to have to report both threads for moderation, I sincerely hope that I don't have to do this again on any subject matter.

BB's should be fun for all, not a way of bashing others from afar.
